Its a law apparently, they aren't allowed to show it on 24 HR Streaming but yeah apparently it is a strict broadcasting law, forget why exactly though I think it's something to do with copyright laws needing to be passed or some bull like that lol

I think you need to get clearance from the owners/publishers of the music before it can be broadcast, obviously with a live feed this can not be done.

I think it's the same even if the housemates are singing, as it is classed as a "performance" of an artists work

Its more to do with the fact that if they didnt ask permission or notify the performing rights licencing authorities well in advance they have to pay a lot more for royalties than if its been pre notified.
