I was cringing for poor Ben - are BB doing what they did to Freddie when he had his birthday task - making him look a complete plonker - not good.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ben to bits but I can't see him getting work in the states from BBUK. Is there a market for a Ben in the USA? Half of the housemates haven't got a clue what he is on about most of the time so will the yanks?

Hey if Cat Deeley and Alex chung can get work there...:joker:

the british are the hot thing in US right now.

Oh.. I so strongly disagree with this. Ben could be absolute magic and especially on US television.

Every once in a while there is a HM who really can translate into some kind of professional consistent career in television somehow. Ben is one of them.
2 cross my mind:
BB9 Luke I could totally enjoy as a political pundit.
Ben - some kind of reality travel program.

But yeah.. he could easily be very successful in LA in all kinds of TV and film arenas. He is something like Richard Quest - he is what yanks believe and expect a true Englishman to be and act like or just enjoy the hell out of it.

Ben wont get anything due to the struggle to show any kinda of emotion.

He never changes hes the same weather happy or annoyed.

Yes and it it were anybody else "No im fed up of him/her all ready on my tv" would be leading by at least 20%

Actually I saw it all with at least 12 other people at the time, not all Ben or Corins supporters either and everyone was in hysterics at it, it was great daft send up music hall and Corin bless her, cannot sing but she gave it her all.How Ben kept a stright face playing the music is beyond me.A very light and very humerous event. They could be aoduble act and actually doing something like that the STATES would love it.

I have already posted on this point on another thread - all the people getting worked up about Ben day etc, need to understand that it was BB's attempt to ridicule and humiliate him, NOT to build him up. To a large extent this has backfired on them:joker:

As for the soiree, it was so hilariously bad it was good, with Ben playing one tune, whilst Corin was singing another, and all the while Ben maintaining a dead pan expression.

In the words of P.T. Barnum "Any publicity is good publicity"

Ben is a tall posh Englishman.

For many Americans that is sufficient! :joker:

Ha! I thought that too! This is why I like Ben - he lives in his own little bubble, rarely expressing any real emotion and while he doesn't like confrontation e.g. Steve, Shabby, JJ, he'll explain or appologise to them and carry on, without letting it bother him. He might occassionally bitch, and he might shy away from some tasks (like Tree of Temptation) but overall he's not a nasty person and he's still part of the team by joining in

His future TV career is firmly linked to Iran's Press TV where he'll join that other illustrious joker George Galloway.

Nah, Ben will be feted in America, to the immense irritation of all his haters, especially JJ:hugesmile: The Americans love the Hugh Grant types, and since Hughie boy is getting a bit long in the tooth, I reckon young Ben could pick up the velvet mantle.

He's posh, the Americans will think he's part of the Royal family.

They need somebody with a bit more emotion and passion. Ben just contantly has an expressionless face with a boring posh voice.

I agree with you Chuff. It's not BB's fault that Ben is sh*t at everything. They gave him FREE airtime and he sat there stonefaced playing the piano worse than Les Dawson while Corin wailed her way thru Dame shirley's back catalogue. If that spells the end of Bens career then lets thank God that this entitled prat cant buy success for himself.

Whats even more annoying is the fact when sunshine was evicted, she was bound to give mario a good day, but it ended up a day from hell for ben (which was **** anyway), the same last week, ife was bound to give mario a good day, but again the produers make sure its all abut ben by treating ben

Even if you hate mario, its a shame he hasent had a nice day yet!

Ben night was such a letdown, it should have been hilarious.

All HMs dressed as Ben and talking posh like Ben. I've not liked many tasks this series but I liked the idea of this one. Shame about HMs.

The HMs were useless as doing the task so it ended up a damp squib. Ben was awful doing his little sh***y skit as well.

And methinks JJ has missed a trick then - what with being able to "retire" at the age of 24 because of his dad's inheritance, just think he could have bought himself a JJ day:wink: I wonder how JJ would have carried off the "soiree" - a rendition of "Tie me Kangaroo down sport", with Josie as his backing singer:joker:

He has his "fingers" in lots of pies - he writes a social diary for some of the newspapers; he writes reviews; he does political commentating and he has appeared on several tv reality shows, he is clearly extremely resourceful as, one way or the other, he keeps himself off the dole queue.

So please don't stress as to how he will find gainful employment, though I'm sure he would appreciate your concern:hugesmile:

I don't know why he thinks he would get famous in America of all places, tbh he'd have to absolutely re-invent his appearance because they are so shallow based on looks on mainstream television over there.

I could see him being perhaps a political correspondant or something, but no way a "big star".

Just like Richard Quest who spent a month or two in the "wilderness" after being "outed" in Central Park!!! lol:hugesmile:
