View Full Version : Steven Yet another task where Steve is given centre stage as 'abjudicator'

Task after task after task... talk about a free ride.

Even in the task he was massively suited for, the wheelchair B Ball, he got a free pass as a trainer/ ref to the party.

Anything to keep him center stage it seems.

I hate 'positive discrimination' personally.

What is the task?

This:

Today we will find out who the toughest housemate is as they go head-to-head in 'Tug-O-War'.

Two housemates are pitched against each other in a simple tug-o-war. However, instead of pulling a rope, housemates each wear a pair of tights over their heads (tied together at the feet) and must use their body strength to pull each other across lines on opposite sides of the garden.

Steve is the adjudicator and will pair up all housemates deciding who will take each other on. At their turn, each pair must pull the tights over their faces and hold them there for the duration of the tug-o-war round.

Each tug-o-war begins with both housemates at equal distance from a line down the centre of the garden, standing back to back. They move away from each other slowly until the tights are taut. Once the bell sounds, the housemates must use all their body strength to pull their opponent. The winner is the first to step over the line on their side. Steve, as adjudicator, will announce the winner of each round.

As a prize for winning, the successful housemates will join Steve in attending a winners’ party tonight.

So it's all to play for, who do you think will be partying tonight?

Surely to be fair to Steve and the other housemates they should allow him to attend only alternate winners parties?

Yawn. I'm disappointed that they haven't chosen some cerebral or other non-physical skill tasks which Steve could take part in, and show us what he's actually made of.

Yeah, BB's "support" for steve is becoming blatant now - the truth is that he cannot function as a full housemate and participate in the physical challenges attached to that role, so he's getting a "free ride" on the sympathy vote in the house .....

Cant have our heroic bionic man Steve "Austin" Gill take part in any tasks that might show him in a bad light, the robot task was bad enough when he started gobbing off at Titan.

Also there was that task a while ago, the backwards day, where he got really really angry. Bet quite a few have forgot that.

Thats why the tasks should be also given a intellectual side to them too, Clearly Steve cannot do major run of the mill physical tasks but there are loads of other aspects to tasks he could do, It is a kind of free rode for him at present and judging, adjudicating and just watcking over teams or deciding who is in what team is not ''doing'' the tasks.
I just think really we the public have little way of judging Steve on anything other than his personal behaviour towards other housemates and thats getting rather sick to watch in some areas. He could have done the Ben task of stand up comedy to the crowd so tasks could be made around him but be tasks he 'does' rather than oversees' and /or watches others doing them.

Well lets face it he is being given a free ride and special consideration.

Lets face it if the tasks were based on an intellectual challenge he is fairly handicapped in that department too. The only tasks which would show him in a good light would be upper body strength type tasks.

Basically he isnt very bright but he can lift heavy weights.

So to put things on an even keel they could choose ANY task which doesn't require legs. Pretty simple, I think. Wonder why they're not doing it?

it gets me why steve always wears shorts. he looks much better in long pants but its as though he wants to show his legs off for either sympathy or for being a hero

The shorts I can cope with, its the vests that he always wears. Makes me wonder if its a fashion statement where he is from.

When I first saw Steve I facepalmed because it was obvious from the get go that he was going to be a sympathy housemate, people will be scared to vote for him due to how it might make them look and the public don't want to come across as douchbags so they wont vote him out, or at least they will be hoping thats the case, I hope he goes soon

No one is immune from people having a go at them, legs or not.

This kind of positive discrimination attitude is exactly the problem here with Steve.

I posted pretty much the same sentiment (ie Steve could do other tasks) on the BB site this evening, when I read about the task and his role in it.

There have been plenty of tasks in previous shows that haven't required physical OR mental prowess ... simply something like the eating chillies / drinking disgusting drinks immediately springs to mind; the mind-numbing sorting of different flavoured crisps, endurance tasks and so on.

To simply have Steve referee a task is pretty patronising, IMO

Why can't they think up tasks he can do? Must be humiliating for him. When keeley was mocking him about it he seemed uncomfortable.

I agree. It's one thing not discriminating cos of his legs, but he is given the advantage every time!

He nothing interesting to say EVER.

He's a dirty minded jerk who if had legs would have had a few people set him straight for his actions. Ben gets more criticism for things that aren't even noteworthy, while Steve cruises along getting away with murder. Its a disgrace that people are afraid to confront hims cos they will be seen to discriminate.

BYE BYE STEVE WE ALL HATE YOU! :wavey:
