Congrats to andy but you need to be averaging 85-90% before thinking a first - at my alma mater it was over 90% in finals

Not so good a 2:1 as first degree

Not completely dim, but he made 2;1 through hard work standard

He's 19! If these are his finals he's taken them at least two years before most people will take them. He passed his A Levels at 13... makes me laugh to see some of the intellectuals on here scoffing at his result.

Yes it sounds very poor for someone that BB made out to be a genius.

There not is finals though and anyone can pass there A levels at 13 if there parents pay huge sums of money on there education.

He isn't even at Cambridge.

Intelligent people are allowed to go to other universities. There are no doubt people at uni's such as Nottingham or Lincoln etc. who are just as if not more intelligent than some at Cambridge/Oxford. They just chose to go somewhere else.

Would've been far more entertaining if Big Brother had told him he'd failed just for sh!ts and giggles :joker:

Nope - means you took your exams when chose to - 69% he might get 2;2 which aint great - he's 19 year old and doing mid-exams, not finals

Nationally Its 70% and above for a 1st.

That's the new rules as Tony Blair said everyone can go to University. To do this the lanour govt just renamed every poly or college a universiry. There are 12 remaining where "University is still a University" - Cambriddge being one - at polys/colleges you can study media studies and pass on 40%............Corin could pass

Your right. I been to comprehensive schools all my life, and I'm going to uni in the autumn. I deserve to be where I am, unlike some people.

If that's true you're going to need to learn the difference between your and you're, and between there and their and they're.

It says Oxford on the Channel 4 website. But whatever, same meat, different gravy.

My first alma mater is EDI, then GLA and snobbing people is wankish -which college did you learn that from?

Snobbing people is wankish? The poster said they're off to uni in the autumn in a post that was barely literate. I don't pick people up on their English skills... but in this case it was relevant. I wasn't even talking to you.

Typically when you pick on people's grammar it's a sign you have nothing to come back with :)

As for the topic at hand, Well done to Andrew.

My stepson got a first in Ancient History along with five others on his course. He's not a genius, nor does he claim to be, so why was Andrew called a Maths Genius?

Well done Andrew!! Yeah I got a bit sketchy about the genius thing.. think I was expecting him to get higher but suppose Maths is a ghastly hard subject anyway!! Maybe he knew he was going into BB when he was doing his exams.. got so excited and lost some concentration?

2:1 is a good grade. Why are people on here being so stuck up? It's second highest, a first being the only higher possibility. 2:1 is damn good, and degrees are not easy! I got a 2:1 myself, and very proud!
