I haven't been here that long i know but how about a forum meeting up for the final, maybe at some pub or eatery, could be "buzzin"?

Mate I got banned for starting a thread like this after only having been here a few days.

Considering alot of forum members live in different parts of the UK, no.

There has already been forum meet ups anyway, and I reckon the majority of people on here are big fans of the show as I, and I think most of us would rather watch the final ever episode of Big Brother at home and not in a pub with a bunch of drunks behind us shouting and then some ***** turning off the telly every 5 minutes.

Miss Ivy Balls

Stuff it. I want a meet. I'm going to start my own thread in C&G.

Miss Ivy Balls

I am being deadly serious this time.

I have grown up since I joined and I realise that doing it in the park is very odd. :bawling:

I was thinking of meeting wherever is best for everyone. I wouldn't be willing to travel any further than an hour and a half. Possible options for me are:

Birmingham
London
Manchester
Leamington Spa
Coventry.

Basically anywhere that isn't a total mess and we aren't going to all get stabbed or mugged. Then again I think I've picked the worst examples for that to happen, but we'll party in the posh parts. I can be lenient on time, but not as lenient to say a journey of three hours.

If anyone lives close to me then maybe we could get the train together and have a few drinks at my house prior to meeting everyone.

It won't be ideal for us to get a train back later that night as we'll probably be refused entry on board a train. I know I will. I think we should book a hotel for the night. Once we've had a few drinks in clubs/pubs we can go back to the hotel to drink some more.

If there is going to be a few of us then a hotel won't cost that much.

If you are under 18 then you need to bring an adult with you. Me or any other person can not be responsible for your actions.

Let me know what you think.

Message to mods: If you don't think this is appropriate then delete it. It is simply asking members if they'd like to go for a few drinks.

A bit?!

Personally, I would like to meet up with some people on here, but i cant see it happening. A lot of members are under 18, and are unlikely to have an adult who is willing to travel in some cases hundreds of miles to meet up with strangers from the internet.

That said, most of the members I would like to meet are actually old enough to do so. But still, I think a lot of people would SAY they would come, then not turn up.

Edit. Like Joe...bloody bitch that he is...hasnt turned up yet ;)

\PJ/

I would meet with a select few in a public place in the day,i can travel anywhere* so it does not matter where.

*as long as the megabus or national express go to the loaction LOL

Leamington Spa as a suggestion lol. You make me laugh :laugh2:

hmmmm. Maybe not. I only said it because I live close.

Nate: Let the mods ban me if they want. I am only asking if peep are interested in a forum meet. They have them on lots of forums. Just because it is me suggesting it, it shouldn't be any different.

We could have a guess my name game. Would be funny. :joker:

I'd be too cautious that it would collapse and people wouldn't come at the last minute. And to get to London it'd be 2.30 hours, and to get up north 5+..so it's really not worth it for me unless its very local

Miss Ivy Balls
22-07-2010, 12:29 AM

Yes that would be my main problem too. Everyone saying they would go, me travelling miles, then noone actually being there :laugh2:

Then again, I could bring gav with me, so if noone turned up, we could stay in a hotel for the night anyway and have a day out. Bit different for people who would be coming alone though.

Look. People!!! Listen!!! I'm a Geordie. If we get pissed before hand all our inhibitions will be gone.

Thats the way to do it :D

Miss Ivy Balls

I would definitely turn up. I'd just make sure I'm pissed before I met you all.

5 minutes later. 3 wounded and 5 dead. 2 still arguing. Stacey humping a lamp post. Police trying to control Vicky.

Karl...:(

You forgot to mention me.

Vicky, yep. I'm always rather dull when I go out drinking, but let me get a few drinks down me and I'm gone with the wind.

Anyone actually seriously interested in this? I think it would be really awkward to start with an we'd want the ground to swallow us, but after we actually started chatting we'd feel like we knew each other for years.

22-07-2010, 01:03 AM
I think il give it a miss :)

Ive been to one forum meet up before on an old torrent site thats now closed down it was epic we took over a pub in preston for the night about 30 of us turned up and The guy doing the disco in there was a member of the forum and he broadcast the night live to the members of the forum live using shoutcast.

The first hour was a bit nervy everybody on best behaviour the rest of the night was one of the most drunken nights of partying and debauchery your ever likely to see a few people were thrown out for getting it on in the toilets and we ended up in a club and i woke up the next day on a complete strangers kitchen floor and 60 miles from home :)
one of the most legendary forum meet ups you could ever imagine. it was talked about for years afterwards.

So If you end up having a meetup make sure you take a camera because we all want to see the results :hugesmile:

I'm not moaning about the kegs. The more the better. As long as half of them are cider. Can't drink lager. If 200 people turned up then I'd be thrilled, except I wouldn't allow anyone in the house. 200 people in a house is just destined for blow-up. It is a house we have and not a mansion.

True enough I guess of most people; I just want to meet some strangers. Please kidnap me. LOL. Yeah also, for people who are worried that they haven't been here long - a meet up is probably an even better way to become friendly with people because you'll have met them in person, so if you're keen, then go for it! But yeah I'm up for it. I'm going down to Newcastle for a weekend in September if anyone around there wants a flying visit! :)

I don't think I'd ever go to a general meet up really, I'd meet certain members but that's it really.

Same. There's only a handful of people I'd actually want to meet anyway, plus I'm not good at meeting a whole bunch of people that I don't really know.

The ONLY people from here I'd consider meeting at the moment and that's taken years of friendship is Greg, Shaun, Mark, Darenn and Laura.

How do we know you're not some crazy rapist Thomas

I'm not. The same could be said for anyone else. I'll bring my personal panic alarm just incase one of you tries to deck me.

I say.. we all meet up in Coventry! Outside Blue Banana. Lol I went to Coventry last year.. my friend met someone on the internet and I went with her to meet him. lol

This is a brilliant idea. I live on the outskirts of Coventry so is really easy for me to access. If we were to do this then we could meet at my house before hand. Would take some arranging, but shouldn't be a problem.

That can be arranged. I know a man with a white van. Newcastle is like 3-4 hours away on train, but I'd go all that way if I knew a few people would turn up.

I don't go anywhere without some form of protection so someone could try napping me but I don't think they'd be successful.

pmsl I'm weird; I'm scared whenever I meet someone new, I have a fear of strangers, but online people I'm not scared because I feel I know them to some extent?

This makes sense. I understand what you mean to some extent.

Yeah that makes sense.

Surely you would have a fear of meeting thomas though, they dont get much stranger than him :p

:( I'm not strange. I'm just different.

:joker: Aw, Thomas is a TiBB treasure... he's like that Joe kid who posts entirely in poems; just something else!

Awwww thank you. Didn't expect that off you because we've never chatted.

I can imagine him walking up with a cap gun and a fish's tail shouting about a Heron.....

I will bring along pictures of Jade. We'd sit around in a circle and have a toast.

You'd be alright. Just stand by me at all times. Anyone tries anything and you scream.

I enjoy your posts Thomas .

Going from my personal friendships; I'd like to meet Shaun, Gary, Ross, Mark, Rory, James, Jen, Linda, Dean, Daren... lots of people really; I've been here for five years :|. From what I've seen of forum meetups, it just brings people together nicely, regardless of whether they were friends or not on the forum before they met; on another forum I used to frequent, a bunch of the London based members met up and all became great friends in real life. I'd meet anyone from here really, I just want to say I've done it, I've spent so much of my life online, I kind of want to justify it in some way .

It would depend on who was going. I like travelling so where it was wouldn't bother me (as long as it was easy to get to on a train.)

And to the people that said there would be arguments and stuff, do you all really take it that seriously? I could argue with most of you all day on here, but I don't hold any of it against any of you. For example, Smithy, I can't stand the guys posts, but I wouldn't be planning on beating him up if I saw him at a forum meet up. I'd leave Thomas to do that.

The guy needs a carer, something tells me he can barely wipe his arse by himself, how the hell could he attack someone rofl.

LOL. I was only speaking in jest about the arguments. As for Smithy, lol, I don't think he would run his mouth if I met him in real life.
