Big Brother may still have a life, with Media tycoon Richard Desmond purchasing Five and looking to resurrect Big Brother on the channel. Mr Desmond, who owns he Daily and Sunday Express and OK! Magazine, is understood to have already had talks with Endemol – who were also interested in purchasing the television station.
According to The Telegraph, Mr Desmond’s £100m bid for the channel is expected to be confirmed later today.
The paper says that the potential new owner is already understood to have had discussions with Endemol – the owners of Big Brother – about resurrecting the programme.
By using his newspapers and magazines to cross sell the content and personalities involved in such reality TV shows Mr Desmond hopes to be able to revitalise the reality TV genre.
If this happens then they should give the show a break for a bit IMO:).

just sack all the children involved in the current production teams and get real tv people that will pick real inmates to be shown without the storyline garbage we have had to endure since BB5

Hopes to be able to revitalise the programme? Hopes to be able to milk some more cash out of it
He sets very high sales targets for his staff....I imagine it will all be about making cash for him...there'll be multi media services set up, all engineered towards pushing the BB product with the public and organising as many different ways of doing that as possible.
It'll be even more tabloid than it is now....and he knows better then anyone that sex sells...BB will go balls out for sex and outrage if his company take it over...imo anyway..

I hope so, I would hate to lose BB but it desperately needs some fresh people working on it and some new ideas. A change is as good as a holiday!

Who ever runs BB if at all it has no future as long as institutions like Ofcom exist and members of the public who are offended at the drop of a hat constantly whinge to the idiots at Ofcom...............

Five would drive it into the ground and the chances of it ever returning would be even slimmer. As much as I will miss it, I'd rather it took a break for a few years.

Everyone's a critic. Whoever was doing the choosing, someone would be unhappy with it. If it's been so bad since BB5, what on Earth are you doing on here for BB11, still discussing it??

Have I said that it has been so bad since B5.
nope just that the childish production team are more interested in the "storylines" and that has turned a lot of viewers off and that was not the case as much before then
didnt realise I needed your permission to watch or discuss the prog tho:joker:

The main purpose of BB is indeed its story lines which all to often the public sabotage by evicting housemates right in the middle of a developing situation.....BB failure is mainly down to the public who use the housemates like some sort of shooting gallary when ever one pops up their head and gets noticed.....
However I do agree with your conclusion that the production team are children......With the savge censorship and capitulation to Ofcom since BB5 then they might just as well be children.....

Permission? Huh? I was just intrigued why you have had to "endure" the programme since BB5. It's not compulsory!
