So basically some bloke called Richard bought Five as you may all know by now.

Endemol were ment to by Five, and would of saved Big Brother as Endemol love the show and care for it, had they of bought Five... ENDEMOL would of had complete control over their show.

Now some ***** has bought it, who is interested in celebrity gossip and porn channels.

So it looks as if BB12 won't be coming on or at least not until A LONG LONG time.

So what now?
Do you think Richard would buy it? Does anyone know what he's like? Is BB his cup of tea?

He owns the star, and they used to bum BB, so by buying BB he could promote his own show, it'd kinda make sense.

From what ive read, he loves reality TV so thats a big step in the right direction i presume :)

dont worry patrick if he buys it he could revamp it a little bit so it becomes a ratings winner.

Latest articles are suggesting he is keen to take on BB. It would fit well with his existing portfolio.

I think the format would change a lot.

Patrick, that ***** Richard that just bought Channel 5 has just been live on the channel and he said he was in talks with Endemol :)

Could happen I know he wants Most Haunted more though (well according to papers he already has it for 2011) if this is the same Richard. He loves Most Haunted especially as he brought them to LIVING so i'm guessing he must like BB too lol

It could be a good thing. If BB is closer connected to tabloids it means more promotion and publicity for the show....

IF he could revamp the channel it might work but as it stands I'm pretty much against it. The reason BB stayed on the air for so long considering bad ratings for BB9-11 was that it's successful with young demographics which is like goldust to advertisers. C5 doesn't have access to the same demographics as C4 so I can't see it doing well.

Give C5 a year or two to see if they can turn themselves around first before taking on BB I think.

He's got media connections which is a good thing but I think he'll be fighting an uphill battle.

I'd rather see BB12 in 2012 tbh, one because as you said it would give C5 a chance to revamp itself from a poor crappy channel into a great channel.

Plus, We would be on track with the years finally :D
We have always been a year behind since 2000 lol.

This sounds like a new era for the whole of Channel 5!!! im so excited :D

Now I can watch Most Haunted on my freeview tv upstairs ^o^
