Booooooooring!

Should've stuck the fat black guy in, he just said what he wanted.

Of course it was terrible. It was always going to be when it was them deciding. The only way we would've gotten the best batch would've been if it was a public vote.

We have some 41 year old slag who thinks she's it, some average joe kind of guy and an average joe kind of girl.

Would've liked them to have stuck the outspoken geezers in but no, they've no balls and no desire for excitement.

Exactly. IMO Jo should not have gone in. Any of Sam/Joel/Megan could've gone in over her and they would've been far better.

That guy wanted to promote piece and love, that's the last thing this series needs. The selections fine.

The whole reason why BB should have just picked who went in :bored:

It always had the potential to backfire, and it looks like it has. Should've chosen 2, 4 and 6. Though I'll reserve judgement on them for a bit.

The producers are stupid anyway. They haven't got a ****ing clue. What a lame attempt at a twist :joker:

That was so amateurish that I think it was the nail in the coffin. Not only tell the housemates who they don't like but give an insight into who might be favourite.

This might be the worst series of Big Brother of all time.

What a Fcuk up, whats the point in letting the HMs choose? C4 really don't care anymore.

I think they picked a good 3, would have prefered Sam over JJ though.

Big fat guy seemed boring imho, Megan would have been alright but I think Jo will add more.

Well we cannot upset Josie can we. She was annoyed that JJ allowed Laura to be chosen.

I think it looks like a good three.... we will never know ANYTHING until we actually see them, but JJ and Laura were my choices and heard that Jo is glamaourous and argumentative.

I normally give things a chance first, and they might turn out alright. But going by first impressions it was the worst 3.

Here is three bland characters and three interesting ones... and they chose allt he bland ones?

Do you think thye just chose the ones that would be least threatening?

I think they should have let the public vote with the top two going in, and the housemates chooing the 3rd one.

Fat black guy would have been way way way better choice,
but,
instead they did what we predicted/feared:
put in a JJ (actually managed to find the same nickname guy??)
put in a 'Josie'
put in another rachael.

all sort of sexy club scene fitting types who are all the same kind of demographic, income, station in life.

This is starting to look more like BBUSA with 12 models named Cody and Jennifer all chosen from the same shopping centre in the sense of 'too many same types'.

Anyways.. I don't like adding new HMs especially at this late in the season but wow:
Where was any unique and totally different types?

You just knew this backlash was going to start on here tonight.

All I ever read about new housemates is that we want new housemates in there, then when we get them, they are not good enough........................

It's the last show guys, try and enjoy it, because it's not got long left.

With his 'sexy fat guy' line,it was obvious that was all there was to him, when he repeated it again to Davina=boring. In truth he'd have slept half the day like Josie and spent the rest of it sat on the sofa with Dave and Steve.

Just because he's black doesn't mean he would have been another science/victor.I say this as a black person,I knew the moment it flashed on the black guy everyone in the crowd would be cheering him in cause 'black dudes are cool'.No,not always.

The housemates that went in were the right ones imo.We don't need another fat middle aged guy=Joel(steve, dave)or another awkward young guy=Sam(andrew) and they need some more girls;new blonde girl.

I would like to have seen you trying to pacify everyone when all the HM's are shouting out their favorites....he had an impossible task ther...no-one else got up and took that role...He tried to please everyone but we all know that wasn't going to happen.Just watch Ben/Andrew/Mario etc will all be blaming JJ...JUST LIKE YOU.

There's nothing you can say that will change any minds, the whole thing is a shambles because of John James.

Had he not stood up and helped out, he would have been damned for not joining . Trust me, if there's a way, they will blame John James, that;s how it works on these forums these days.

Well.. first I would tell you, as someone from a long line of tall blonde people it doesn't make us all automatically interesting.
I know a lot of black guys think just because a woman is tall and blonde then they must be sexually attractive/status winning.
Plenty of them are boring, unsexy and some won't ever sleep with a black guy no matter who or why.

But never mind all that. I would have taken fat black guy over 'generic charlie/racheal/ife' replacement clone who is already talking about make-up and wanting to gossip.
I need MORE make-up 20-somethings to gossip about make-up???

I DO like the new JJ but let me tell you what we predicted and is fulfilling already:
JJ 1 and JJ2 already met, realized they are like the 'opposite twins' and then JJ 1 said he wont conflict with JJ2 because JJ2 is a pro boxer and so no arguments.
WE KNEW THIS.
This happened last season when they got Marcy an 'opposite' to one-up him. Instead of Marcy getting his comeuppance or whatever.. ..Marcy sulked in the corner of the pool doing absolutely ZERO anything.

don't know about this other one. she MAY have some potential but I still say fat black guy was better because he seemed unique and probably was lazy and I suspect (dont ask me why) he would be messy and become an eyesore.

I'd also have rather had another nerd. Oh man.. people.. IF we could ever get a 'nerd battle' its just epic warfare,
or,
they band together and totally eff up the house with their nerd powers.

not thrilled but not devastated... I would have rather seen a 'Nathan', a Matronly older woman and one of those intense success-orientated business entrepreneur types.

'Plenty of them are boring, unsexy and some won't ever sleep with a black guy no matter who or why':conf: ,erm don't get what the dating stuff you're going on about has to do with anything.

I never said because Laura is 'tall and blonde' that automatically made her interesting. All I meant was that the house was male-heavy and it would be nice to have another young girl in there.

How is Jo a 'generic charlie/racheal/ife' ?Because she's black?I doubt you'd be calling her that if she was white.I don't see how she is anymore 'generic' then anyone else who has gone in?I must have missed the 10's of other
40-something black women BB has been putting in the house:conf:

Glad the black guy(can't remember his name)didn't go in,cause we don't need another sofa partner for Steve and Dave.

JJ saying he won't argue with the new guy now means little,if anything, that's a statement of intent. Why even think about potential arguing partners,if you genuinely aren't going to have a problem with them?I bet they'll clash at some point, this is just the first night.

Well no, I wouldn't be calling her that if she was white because the actual problem is something you already mentioned - dull pretty make-up girls who are considered 'a different type' because they are black.

Let me put that another way - in fact, make-up girls are all alike. BB seems to think picking a 'black make-up girl' then makes it 'different' and somehow we should be happy seeing 'diverse selection'.

In other words - there is 'race identifying' going on in my statement but its BB Im describing doing it.

Try if it's possible for you,to look past their skin colour for a second.
Yes they might have all worn make-up at some point, but anyone who watched them for more than 3 seconds could see that Ife,Charley and Rachael all had different personalities. They are not 'generic' versions of each other.

You've gone from saying generic 'Ife/Charlie/Rachel' to now saying 'black make-up girl' to move the arguement on for some reason.

Sorry still don't see how the women you're talking about all fit into these boxes, other than that they all happen to be black.Eg.Ife was nowhere near as 'make-up'/image obsessed as Charley,Charley was a loud mouthy 20 something,Jo is a 40 something who appears to be able to speak coherently, unlike Charley.

It seems to be some crime for you that they put in a 'black make-up girl',thinking it makes it 'different' because she's black,so what?
If Jo was exactly the same person but white, doubt you'd be honing in on her for supposedly being 'generic'.Because she's black she must be out of this world, completely unusual?why don't you have this standard for JJ or Laura, that they MUST differentiate themselves?Because you look at all the black women as the same eg. 'Ife/Charlie/Rachel';whether they are or not, where as you don't with the other HMs.

If we're gonna get at Jo for being 'generic' ie similar to other HMs/previous HMs,everyone is to some extent.
My original point was you lumping her in with other housemates who share little more than being black women, this whole 'make-up black girl' thing is just going off point to confuse the arguement.

Yeah I'd have preferred the other blonde girl, just because she's prettier to look at really.Laura has such a blah demeanour and face,I actually can't even remember what it looks like. She will fade into the background,,spend all day nodding to Corins stories and talk about missing her boyfriend:sleep:

I think the HMs ultimately did a better job than casting or the public would have. JJ and Laura are good for romance, this season has had close to none. They're excellent challenges to John James and Josie. Jo will take on the older men that currently rule the house, and that should be fun. I think casting would go with JJ, Laura, and Sam (awful). I think the public would have chosen JJ, Joel, and Sam (better but no estrogen).

I could switch Laura with Joel because I think JJ alone would be enough to mess up JJJ, and I think Laura's cannon fodder, but oh well. Much better group than Keeley, Rachel, and Andrew. My only real complaint is that there are too many Js.

In BB, overall, that is about as good as saying "I'm single" as far as predicting showmances.

Even 'serious long-term boy/girlfriend' has often meant little.

If near alla these housemates are really the bst that wanted to be in this BB series then it really is a wahed up programme, or the producers have presented the dullest bunch of people ever.
Very few 'REAL' characters, but all we are really getting is nother fake romance saga that in previous BB has spoiled them too,I dont think there's ever been a more unlikely romance saga in past BBs than John James and Josie's though.
Number 4 Joel would have likely been a great housemate from the snippet we saw of him and he got the most votes but also like someone else on here, I don't like housemates going in at this late stage,we need at least up to 6/7 weeks to start to work them out a bit and for them to really show us what they are like,in 5 weeks from now we will be at the last week just about so this was another rediculous thing to do,BB should have had something like 6 other housemates elsewhere waiting to go in liket they did in some other BBs but we the public had seen them well before they joined the first housemates.
