This will probably fall on it's ar$e, but I thought there might be some room on the forum for a thread that applauds and acknowledges the individual
This room is for the wandering souls of the forum; the people who yearn for a place where they can come in of their own accord and feel free to while away the hours with congenial discourse and the odd bit of banter, without worrying that by doing so they have taken an oath of alliegiance and renounced all of the freedoms that they had entered with. Come and go as you please, and rejoice in the fact that this room is for you, to talk crap and leave whenever and however you want, without worrying about conforming or any rubbish like that. So that means only the odd hug and kiss emoticon!
You are not obliged to talk continuously - just talk when and if you want, about anything.
Rules- There's no We in I.
No "I love you" crap. We're here to talk, not to flatter.
Your first comment of each day has to be something completely random or interesting; something that suddenly occurred to you during the day and might spark some form of conversation, not just a "Hiya Indo's" or some rubbish like that. The more surreal the better.
Eg. - Where did the saying, "yeah, and pig's fly" come from and why is it always about pigs? Isn't that a form of prejudice? Did some wally in the middle ages place a bet, saying that he could make a pig fly and proceeded to catapault porky into the air, only to be told that that's not flying, but falling fast? Is that where the phrase was established? - somebody with an irrational hatred of the animal?
I mean, wouldn't it be better to just say, "yeah, and I'm Superman", rather than slagging off a poor animal who probably doesn't want to fly anyway.... they look perfectly happy to me, unlike us. Or do we use words like pig and cow to degrade other people just because they're animals that we slaughter and it helps relieve our own shame?
So yeah, things like that. Not as long... it was just an example!
