Fookin' hell, right surprise that. Thing is yeah Andrew is a mathematical genius but he said he was bad at other subjects I think he said he was bad at literacy. He's not all around intelligent, just really good at maths.

JJ isn't really dumb, he's just kinda' laid back when it comes to intelligence... or somethin'. You can see he has common sense and knows what to do in certain situations though, I mean last night when everyone was desperately shouting out who they wanted in, who stood up and said to everyone "Everyone be quiet... look you've all gotta' sit down, just everyone sit down" and decided to do it fairly by counting the votes for each potential housemate.

It was hectic and yet JJ was the one who knew what to do.

Still, really surprised about a few things there. For example Ben not being in the top 5 is kind of a surprise, Corin not being in the bottom lot, or even at bottom, same for Rachel. JJ being top is a big surprise to me though still.

Well yeah actually I agree with that Trumpet. The IQ test is kinda' dated and it's not really an accurate assessment of somebodys' overall intelligence. I'm not down with the IQ test to be honest.

They release this data each year. It is part of the pychometric testing all hm's have to undergo to see if mentally they are stable.

IQ is a measure of intelligence, not knowledge.
Anyone can acquire knowledge, but it's knowing how to apply it that denotes intelligence.
I believe Andrew has an IQ of 133 so the above scores are highly suspect. Maths may be a specialised subject in many ways, but it is also the one subject that is utilised in many areas of brain function and is a good measure of overall intelligence. In any event "Perth FM" is hardly the authority on intelligence quotients, and where would they have got them from anyway?:wink:

You're obviously lying.

Any contestant on BB would have to give WRITTEN INFORMED CONSENT to participate. That requires that they are able to give informed consent. Anyone with an IQ of 63 would not be considered capable of giving informed consent. In fact a recent High Court ruling went against the BBC when they tried to use a women for a documentary who had an IQ of 63, as the High Court judge ruled the woman could NOT have given her consent to participate in the show.

I'm 17, and 2 years ago at the age of 15 I had an IQ of 102, last year i was at 117,doing it a few months ago I had a IQ of around 114....

How come I decreased? It all confuses me, maybe last year because I was at the peak of GCSE's but I dont think that means anything regarding IQ tests. Its about general interlligence isnt it? Or actual intelligence?

IQ tests at different ages are not comparable in the way you suggest. There are many differences in measures of intelligence.

Surely it was obvious that JJ was running rings round everyone. He is constantly on the alert and in front for everything going. He may say he is not there to win but why would he fly to England 3 times paying for 2and 1/2 the third flight if he did not expect to get some reward.

Somebody mentioned that in England you get tested for IQ at age 11. Here in Australia where JJ has been all his life before BB there are no compulsory IQ tests, and I'd be buggered if JJ has ever taken one. I've never taken one, nor had the desire to (if you know anything about IQ tests you're intelligent enough to know how bunk they are).

So either 1) BB made all housemates do an IQ test and somehow the results were leaked, 2) the OP is just BS'ing, or 3) Perth FM are just BS'ing to get us to talk about it, because it's naturally going to be controversial with JJ having the highest IQ. I'll let you decide which ;)

Sunshine has confirmed on twitter that the HMs did NOT take IQ tests as part of their audition process. Therefore, I highly doubt that anyone knows the IQs of all the HMs, let alone a random radio station that doesn't seem to have any connections to BB.

As for variable IQs -- an individual's IQ can change over time, depending on the experiences the person goes through. IQ is a combination of nature (heredity) and nurture (experiences/environment), and it is not static. Even as an adult, your IQ can change over the years.

the test is very random. it is multiple choice, and if you dont know, you make an educated guess.
i.q. also goes down as you get older.
this shouldnt bother you, and on your scores, if you take an average, you have a higher iq than most.

My best mate when people look at him, he's the typical male, booze, girls, football etc... the way he talks would make him look like he is really dumb, but he has an IQ of 158.

He is very intelligent but sometimes hides it, he got straight A* in his GCSE's, wish I was him!

However that IQ test posted by the OP cant be true, there is no way Mario could be that low.

It's nonsense to dismiss the IQ tests. When Davina interviewed Dr. Thomas Chamorro-Premuzic, on BB on the Couch, he said that Chanelle, Ziggy, then Sam and Amanda, had the highest IQ scores of the housemates, and all had similar scores. That was the case until the four new arrivals entered, although I don't know which of them had higher.
When Davina pointed out Chanelle's surprising score, saying she didn't use her intelligence, Dr. Chamorro-Premuzic told her that they were very long, state-of-the-art tests, and that the results never lie. Remember that he's a world expert on personality and IQ testing, so he knows what he's talking about. Channel 4, recently ran a propaganda documentary, condemning IQ testing, but it's telling that they wheeled out as supposed experts, Prof. Steve Jones and Prof. Steven Rose, neither of whom are remotely qualified to comment on IQ, and both are known for their liberal-Left poitics.
To clear up the confusion about the scales used in BB's tests, the one they use would need a score of 148 to qualify for MENSA. In the most commonly quoted scale, where 132 would qualify for MENSA, a score of about 119-120 would put you in the top 10 percent of the UK population. 67 percent are between 85-115, which is classed as the 'normal' range. An IQ of 70 is officially classed as borderline learning difficulties, although, as there are different ways of defining learning difficulties, many, such as Susan Boyle, are wrongly and unfairly labelled as having low intelligence.

IQ tests are a test for all round intelligence. Some people are intellectuals, some people are good with shapes, some with words, some with numbers, some interpersonally, some for memory, some for quick thinking.

When I did one in my last year of A-levels 2 years ago I got 137... although I didn't do that great in my actual a-levels and my spelling is piss poor.

To get into Mensa you need to be in the top 2% of the population, which is roughly an IQ of 140, depending which type of IQ test you take.

I thought the same but the IQ test doesn't test emotional intelligence or emotional awareness. I think John James has bad emotional awareness. I think he is fairly emotionally intelligent too. His descriptions of some peoples personalities have been spot on before.
