View Full Version : ANTI BULLYING - kids should not see this behaviour as acceptible

i am so angry with the amount of bullying being carried out in that house. Jodie Marsh might not be the cleverest person in their and she doesint always portray herslelf in the best light but she does not deserve the victimisation she is recieving in there. Micheal Barrymore has gone in that house with a plan to shed as many tears as possible and make everyone feel sorry for him but the second Jodie sheds a tear she is set upon. Pete, Michael and George are being cruel and seem to think they automatically deserve everyones respect without respecting others. they have almost convinced the whole house now that she is a terrible person. We are trying to stamp out bullying in schools and many children watch this programme, they should not see this kind of treatment as being acceptable

I do agree with you jodie has some issues most of us no that but what the others are doing is totally wrong i thought michael was better than that infact all he is doing is proving those ppl who slag him off in the papers and the other ppl what he is really like.I always thought he was great on tv but after seeing this i have changed my opinion of him he is doing exactly what they slagged jodie off for.I thought being adults they would no better. At the end of the day if you was an adult if you didn't like someone you was with you would still try to get on with that person just to be polite and get on with your own things not just for your sake but for others around you as well not behave like kids in a school playground.I did think chantelle needed to be told about jodie as she was being used but there is a polite way in doing it not thinking you have authority over someone just because you are older.

You don't know what bullying is.
All the charactors in there are strong, so to say they have been 'convinced' is ludacris, they are all adults and have all expressed different opinions about the situation.
Everyone is pulling out this bullying card, and it is so far from the truth. Jodie brings it on herself, again and again to the extent now that everyone feels sorry for her because she said she's being bullyed.
As i said before, you don;t know what bullying is, neither does Jodie which doesn't suprise me with her brain being smaller then a salted peanut.

i would class it as bullying, just cos you dont like someone - and i have to say jodie is not my favourite person, it doesnt give you a right to attack them like they are doing, just leave her to it, if they're right in what they're saying then she'll be voted out wont she
She isnt being bullied shes making out she is when she breaksdown looking for sympathy, and she is really annoying me

I have to tell you i know exactly wot bullying is, just because she's not in a school playground doesnt mean she cant be bullied, and maybe she does bring a lot on herslef but they are adults and should be able to rise above it !!!

That's the thing they come trying to give advice and she twists it and makes it seem as if there picking on her.
Today they all gathered round to talk and sort out the ever going issue within the house, but all she cared about was that everyone was picking on her but really if you look back every single one of them was giving her/ each other advice but she was NOT listening.
How can you define a ignorant person as someone who is being bullied?
You can't!

Yeah but the thing with Pete is he listens to what you've got to say and he responds in the most honest way he knows. Maybe more blunt then people are used to but thats what makes him unique and ultimatley makes him who he is.
Maxwell was a bully going by the way he was boo'ed and interigated by Davina McCall and that was all down to Makosi crying wolf and drawing peoples attention, just like Jodie is doing now.
I think Pete is honest he says what he thinks

She is being bullied. Today she was defending herself infront of everyone and didn't go off crying, infact Michael went crying, so saying that she goes of crying to make out she's the victim is wrong.

Michael was crying, way before it all kicked off, so thats one of your tales put to bed.
To say i don't know the meaning of the word bullying is a joke in itself. I know the difference between bullying and what Jodie is doing and that is self-victimisation. Everything is her fault. Everyone hates her. Everybody thinks she's a slag. She brings it on herself, and in that i mean she brings critisism her way.
And finally, the people who i am defending have actually got the balls to confront there issues instead of hiding behind a trowel full of make-up.

I think when two people, sometimes more, gang up on one person and every little thing that person does, it can be classed as bullying.
I think in Pete's case, it is bullying, you can see the nastiness in his eyes, the way he looks for approval, and the way he attempts to get others involved.
I think Michael is clearly stung by Jodies comments on him, I'm not sure he can be classed as a bully.
There is no doubt, Pete wants to be top dog, and if anyone gets in his way, he will attempt to get people to turn on them, that is his insecurities, not Jodie's or anyone elses.
I think at best, it's victimising one individual, the reasons are not known, although one can only assume bitterness on Pete's part.
I remember BB6 when certain individuals bullied others, some people around here who said that was bullying, are saying this is not.
I do believe people are seeing Jodie Marsh here, and not seeing the fuller picture, having already made up there mind about her, before she even entered the house.
Pete without his manipulated new friends is nothing, I can quite imagine he's made a career out of using people.
I've never been a Jodie fan, but there is more to her. She is outspoken, but at least she fights her own corner and doesn't need buddies to help her out.
Pete just arselicks certain people, and then, when they are onside, influences them into joining in.
I don't blame Michael, he's easily influenced, Pete has seen this, and used it to his advantage. He has no interest in Michael at all, he probably thinks he's a murderer, but he'll worry about that later, right now, he's got a younger girl to get rid of.

And Jodie talking explicitly about sex, flashing her boobs and acting a tart, swearing, being rude and disrespectful is ok for young kids to see, is it? You talk about bullying but you're just using edited highlights to create your own distorted version of what you consider to be the truth. I'm constantly amazed at the amount of people falling for her poor little miss picked on act.
Jodie has gone into that house actively seeking confrontation. She has no respect for anyone other than herself. She's nasty and spiteful and deserves no shred of sympathy when older and wiser people are showing her the error of her ways.
I still don't think hes bullying her i just think its Pete being honest but thats my opinion

One of my tales? Tonight when watching after things started kicking off he went off crying and acting as if he was the victim, it's not a tale its fact.
I actually said you do know the meaning you just don't recognise it which means that you can't tell what is bullying and what isn't. I don't know how I can spell that out anymore clearly. Your attacking Jodie non stop without actually looking at the other people. They aren't all that innocent. I'm not saying that Jodie is perfect but the way she's being treated is wrong.
I know this is a bit of a lame response to your 3rd point but you say that they have the balls to confront their issues without hiding behind a trowel full of make-up but Pete is actually doing exactly what you said. He has scars on his face due to a mistake made (maybe not his fault be he went ahead with the surgery) and now he covers up the scars with alot of makeup. So basically that sentence was exactly what Pete is doing?

We all have something in common with each other, and I actually support Traci. In this debate, I support Jodie.
I just find it hard to understand, when you say you don't name call etc, you find it acceptable for Pete to do so, and it's not bullying.
I may have misunderstood though, it is a messageboard after all, we all misread.

Do me a favour and grow up.
I was judging by your style, and found the responses of an average 19 year old, which is not a shameful thing, it means you are not a 12 year old or a 15 year old etc etc.
Don't take offence, I haven't. I'm just surprised you are still her as you were off to bed.
Anyway, whenever you go, have a nice day :xyxwave:
See that annoys me more, sarcastic goodbyes.
Let's just leave it as i hate you, die! I feel at ease then. But with sarcastic replys i feel i have to respond.

Why would I want you to die? You may like Pete Burns, but that's not quite a good enough reason :joker:
You don't have to respond to anything, just move on. I had some oddball earlier trying to make me reply, I just laughed.
Just drink your brew and go :joker: No offence :joker:

You've got to take some of posts with a pinch of salt though.
I am a psychologist/pyschotherapist, whatever you want to call me and I do 'use' Internet areas for research.
I guess i'm quite 'perverse' in that way, enjoying peoples reactions.
It's all good to me, it's not like Jodie or Pete or anyone actually cares what a very small corner of the internet thinks anyway. :joker:

Oh well :joker:
I think Pete is a bully and a crybaby, Jodie is no angel, but she is a victim in this particular situation, Michael is a very weak easily led person, George is a bad politician, Traci is sweet and the voice of reason, and Dennis has a broken willy.
Nothing will change my mind, end of subject, time for bed, I have clients tomorrow :joker:
Happy Sleeping all :joker:

She's a crybaby too, just you wouldn't expect it from a man who considers himself so strong.
Pete will see alot of himself in Jodie, and it frightens him.

Yup, and she's in the wrong there, but Pete should know better at 46.
Like I say, she's no angel at all, and she has to learn.
He started waterworks because he hadn't seen his boyfriend for 7 days, i'd say that was a problem for a grown man, would you not?
Yeah but hes not trying to get sympathy

Possibly, either way, crying over missing someone after 7 days, or crying for the public....people have been telling me he's stronger and better than that.
All the housemates have left people behind, just gotta deal with it, did he expect a phone to the outside world? :joker:
Anyway, must really go now :xyxwave:
So what is acceptable?
The housemates congratulate what Jodie's been doing, and to tell her she's the best person that ever appeared on Big Brother?:bored:
She's playing the victim yet she won't accept she started it all.

But he could be more diplomatic and sensitive.
The thing is Red, he's always been a brutally honest person. He was infamous for that throughout the 80s. People would automatically think that he was asked to do the show because of the cosmetic surgery issue, but I think that was just a bonus for them. It makes a lot more sense when you think about the plethora of media articles linking Boy George with this year's show.
I was shocked initially by the way that he spoke to Rula, but he backed it up, too. And Rula certainly didn't seem to have a problem with it later on. It's much more about the persona than anything else, and once you think about it for a while, it's said in jest more than anything else. The waspish sense of humour takes a little time to get used to, but it's seldom meant in a truly malicious way. So it may not go down very well with some, but it's the reason why he's there in the first place.

If that's the case, then this thread needs a gritting lorry.
I'm sorry, but this is the second time (to my knowledge) that you've made reference to this, and I have to say that I don't believe you for a second. Numerous things give it away; the vocabulary, the complete absence of any professional terminology (everyone drops in a little 'shop talk' from time to time, without even noticing more often than not), the failure to rationalise opinion above the level of petty put-downs, the 'I'm bigger than Dennis' ('my dad's bigger than your dad' in alternative packaging) scenario, etc. And even if it were true, do you think it affords you any kudos here? It really doesn't; not one iota, in fact.
I think 'troll' is the most fitting terminology. You basically slate Jodie in certain topics, and then come into threads like this looking for someone to rile. Tanser is a character all right, and I seldom agree with anything he has to say. But I like him because he's a character. He can infuriate at times, but he means nobody any harm. I'm glad he went to bed when he did, so that nobody had the pleasure of seeing him get into trouble.
And just to correct a little misnomer from earlier in this thread - a sprinkling of :joker: smilies fools (every conceivable pun fully intended) nobody.

Okay folks, closing this thread because we're here to talk about the housemates and the show, and not each other.
