We've not really seen any strong male characters really this year. We had some last year but they got trampled on by the women. At the very start I thought John would be one the way he went off a Rachael, but he toned down loads. There was also Nathan, but he never got a chance to really show his full personality. Most just sit around bitching or cuddling. No Victors, Marcus' or Rex's this year it seems!

The men and women have been a let down this year. But the men have been better than the women.

You seem to be talking about neanderthal types - definitely not my definition of real men! Too predictable - same behaviour - just different faces!

I guess Steve is the strongest male character but he's boring lol. I agree about Nathan actually, it's a shame that he didn't stay in in hindsight because he didn't give a **** and I think there's a lack of people in general in there like that this year. Like you say there's certainly no Rex or Victor that's for sure, and love them or hate them at least they gave us plenty to talk about!

Steve was ok until he showed his pervy side with Keeley and that. Dave is ok I guess but is still hit and miss.

Dave is just a nice guy basically I think, there's nothing there to get really enthusiastic about lol. People need to remember this is a TV show at the end of the day, it's not about having 12/14 people in there who are 'nice', well you need some but you need to balance that out with some assholes basically lol and they haven't done that this year. It's all just blah.

Yeah, no really divides this yeah, nobody really proper dislikes eachother. That is sorta why the S&R task is rubbish, because people put up who they dislike and it ends up everyone getting on. Plus this crappy showmance and that, leaves the rest of the groups out the HL's. We've not had any firecrackers this year :(

In that case - I hold my hands up to being one of the many 'clueless' who don't find neanderthol types entertaining! Give me intelligent hms who can outwit and out-talk their 'opponents' anyday - to those that simply shout them down with their, often, limited vocabulary - just lots of bleeps! Thanks but no thanks!
Maybe you are the 'clueless' one for find them entertaining - but each to their own!

Nope, because whilst the people you described are obviously better people, they do not make better TV. Simple fact.
And people are clueless if they believe otherwise.

But watching one hm put down another (who is acting the prat) with an intelligent, witty retort - is far superior, far more cutting and more entertaining than telling them to ****** off you ***t! Far more effective. No contest for me!

On a whole, the housemates as a selection all have been.
