She certainly did.
But she had a laugh at Pete, saying he's the most hideous thing she's ever met, not just looking, but his voice etc.
Plus it was revealed she had an IQ of 136, and 112 is the national average, so that blows the "She's thick" accusation out the water.

And anyway, who cares, her career will now be boosted, something they all wanted.

She earned that over 8 times over for 8 days work.
18k? That's a bit low isn't it?
I don't earn 18k a year, that was merely a hypothetical example of how pitiful today's society is.
InTheHood
13-01-2006, 10:48 PM
At 18k, I'd say someone worked in McDonalds or something.
The average wage I have no idea what it is, it's been many a year since I worried about it, but 18k I would say someone was getting slave labour.

I'd rather be a nobody than be Jodie Marsh, I think she's horrible. If I'd been stuck in the house with her, I'd have gone nuts. I'm amazed the other HMs didn't throttle her.
Whatever, bad example then. All I'm saying is, the likes of Jodie Marsh are no better that you or I, just because they've been in some sleazy magazines.

Right now? I'm a nobody, but I do have ambition.
No offence, but who wants to work in McDonalds, Tesco or Barclays Bank? Or be an accountant, Car Salesman etc etc
People do, and I salute anyone who want to pay their way, but hey, settle for those kind of jobs? I think most people have ambition beyond that.

Did I say that? I just said she has achieved, no matter how prude you are, she has achieved.
£150k for 8 days work, i'd say that was pretty good in most peoples books.

Misreable= Because she was bullied by that thug Pete and Micheal
Lonely= Shes not, She has loads of loving Family and Friends, and shes made new friends in Chantelle and Preston - The Only ones who didnt treat her like a mug
Cheap= What makes you say that? How can she be..Cheap? Shes got a job, and she does her job..Very nicely i say

Well, it's one less thing for the bashers to bash her about, although they've already started saying it's a different kind of thickness.
She can't win with some, so she's just got to realise they are nothing to her and move on with people who like her.

It's true though, your IQ isn't reflective of your overall intelligence.
You can insult people doing menial jobs, but without the poorly paid people working for peanuts, the world would grind to a hault.
Jodie might be your idea of a "somebody," want to know what I think a somebody is? Someone who isn't famous, but makes a difference to peoples lives.
A social worker perhaps, someone who works in a care home for the elderly, or unwanted children. They make more of a difference to peoples lives than Jodie Marsh, and her kind.

Nice to know you think 'my kind', as opposed to 'her kind' do something important.
You missed out the volunteers as well, who do a great job for 'free'.
I concur that alot of celebs don't deserve what they have, although they also don't deserve being labelled 'thick', 'A slut', or 'cheap'
You can do any job and be that, Jodie Marsh is just getting paid for it, and well played to her!

I missed out volunteers on purpose, I did not 'forget' to mention them.
Social workers etc are more on par with Marsh beacause they get paid for their job, as does she.
I don't think I have ever called Jodie 'thick', a 'slut' or 'cheap.'
I just don't like her for being her, and think she is overrated.
I don't feel sorry for her, getting all the criticism she does. She knew what she was getting herself into, people in her line of work get a lot of negative attention, if she wasn't prepared for it, that's her own fault.
She is quite a lucky person, getting paid plenty for a job that deserves little to no effort. Therefore, I don't think she deserves any sympathy for getting called names, names that most girls will be called in their lifetime.

No, but all over this place she has, which is to what I am applying the content of my message too.
It's fine to think she is overrated, if that's your opinion so be it, i'm just stating mine too
Sure, she's oversensitive, that's just her, but it's the same for all of them. Do people think Barrymore won't be reminded of swimming pools etc? it's just life, I don't feel sorry for him, he's proven he's an arrogant git, and I can quite believe, not even under the influence, that fateful night, he knew what was going on, he's done himself no favours going on the show, so I know what you mean.
She may be lucky, but we all need luck, i've had my fair share, we all need it.
And just because people call any girl 'slut', doesn't make it right, does it?
As Barrymore said, "Do you know what words can do to people?"
Fangz
13-01-2006, 11:56 PM
I know how much words can hurt people, your pal Jodie isn't the first person to be bullied, and she won't be the last. I never said it was okay to call someone a slut, I was just pointing out that she isn't the only one to have been called names. She needs to get over it and stop playing the victim.

For sure, she needs help with that though. It's easy to say she has to stop being a victim, but it's harder than people think.
She just has to stand up to people. Sadly, when she does, she's called a bitch/slut/vile etc
Lose Lose.
Pete's cried in the diary room, in the shower etc. At least Jodie has been honest with her feelings.

Exactly, she needs help. She's got enough cash to get the best psychiatrist in the country, surely.
I would like to reiterate, I do not base my opinions of Jodie on anything but her behaviour.
I don't know why you're dragging Pete into this, but I think his tears were genuine. Jodie's tears are so she can play the martyr, a role she seems to enjoy.

I'm comparing Pete with Jodie. I think Jodie's tears are genuine. Not saying Pete's aren't, I'm saying Jodie is being more honest with herself more than Pete is, who has to go and hide his emotions, Jodie needs help, for sure, and she will get that, in the end, she has too. Pete's behaviour has been appalling, and people seem to want us to feel sorry for him. Why? If he can't handle life, he should learn to shut his mouth, in the way Jodie needs too, because by being outspoken, it opens you up to the same back, and neither Jodie, Pete (or Michael) can handle that.
Anyway, I don't know about you, but a new Jodie thread starts every 5 minutes, and i'm getting bored with them. :joker:

Well, I think that Jodie cries (sorry, cried) in front of the others so that they'd feel sorry for her, whereas Pete wanted to cry alone, where people he doesn't even know won't start fussing over him. I don't think it's 'life' he's struggling to cope with, after all BB is nothing like the real world.
I don't feel sorry for Pete, well, no more than I feel sorry for all of them, they must be missing their nearest and dearest.
I like Pete for his wit and sharp tongue, and it was Jodie who started the fur argument.
I don't particularly care if she was upset by Pete's remarks, serve her right, Pete didn't ask for Miss "I belong to PETA, bow to my self-rightousness" to bitch about his coat, did he?
As for getting sick of the Jodie threads, well at least we agree on something, I suppose, though it has been fun having this debate with you, much better than some of the one-word replies on this forum.

Well, I guess every situation is different. Both situations can be construed as not being able to cope, attention seeking (either via the group or public) or anything else really.
I don't feel sorry for any of them, missing their loved ones, 8 days in? Blimey!
Well, I'd have a go at Pete as well. Admittedly I wouldn't have cried and i'd have treated him quite badly for it, but ho hum, that's life.

We can all speculate on the reasons people cry but we can never truly know for certain. I think Jodie knows the industry well enough to understand crying for sympathy is prone to backfire spectacularly. So I believe her tears tonight were totally genuine as the realization of being out of the house hit her. And lets be fair there weren't many tears and she did look like she was fighting them back.
There were times in that house when she could have cried buckets by didn't and showed a lot of dignity by not doing so. And it was while she was being rounded on at the table (the night George called her a wicked person) that my opinion of Jodie completely changed because she kept her nerve throughout. And good on her for that.

I appreciate you're not a fan of Jodie. Personally before BB I've always thought of her as a brainless slapper who enjoys hogging the media limelight (the last bit might be true for all I know!). because you seem like a horrible person and he is a horrible person so it figures you'd like him.

At least you have the guts to say it, I suppose. I'd report you, but you're far too amusing to get banned.

No, but I imagine you'll act the martyr. Anyway, I won't be the one to get you in trouble, your posts keep me amused.

I appreciate you're not a fan of Jodie. Personally before BB I've always thought of her as a brainless slapper who enjoys hogging the media limelight (the last bit might be true for all I know!). But having seen her in the house, hear her speak and deal with situations, my opinion of her has improved considerably.
And I hope people will be a little easier on her now she's out of the house.
I thought exactly the same.
Oh well, she's proved two of us wrong at least

I think Jodie now has to look back at what happened and atleast take something from the experience. She said in her interview that she hated every part but meeting chantelle which I found rather disapointing. Thought she was friends with Preston? She did atleast have some fun in there. I think she will learn from the experience and realise that she has said she and done different things and will go away and have a good look at herself. However I dont think she is quite ready to admit she needs help and still needs to work on that.
