Where the hell did that come from? Who has had a panic attack? The bain of over-active imaginations!

Panic attacks do not happen because someone feels alone or isolated. The often happen for no reason at all.

Trust me, I know about this stuff.

And who do you reckon has had a panic attack?

Well as an axiety sufferer myself, I can have up to 10 panic attacks a day without any reason what-so-ever.

E.g. half way through Big Brother last night I started off and it carried on until about 10 minutes into Big Mouth.

I can have a bad day with many attacks or I can go weeks without anything.

So there isn't always a reason.

Laura Talked about them, Josie talks about them, keeva talked about them.

Laura said all the HMs had them at some point but they come and go.

she couldn't handle it though cos of what was happening with her boyfriend.

I'd have to say i'm very skeptical of all this talk of panic attacks, almost sounds like fad thing or a convenient excuse or attempt at gaining sympathy. I suffer from a fair amount of anxiety at times, and wouldn't even have the capability of - physically being able to enter the BB house in front of the baying crowd and all the media! let alone expose myself on a daily basis in front of 3 million pple 24/7. They really have to do lengthy psychological screening before they will put people on this show. If someone has some sort of legitimate breakdown, BB will be in SERIOUS trouble!

The only HM i see who suffers from quite a deal of anxiety is John James, and i'm NOT just saying this because i - like/dislike the guy, but that's my true observations. Maybe he was screened a little less because of the flying from Australia to audition thing. Trust me, HE will be the one who struggles the most when he leaves the house and is expected to function in front of masses of people, and do interviews etc. The BB circus performer he ain't. If you notice on the very first night, when the HMs entered the house and sat on the couch, when asked to talk about himself in front of the group, he nervously deferred his position, and said he'd do it last. There's your signal of someone who suffers from quite a bit of anxiety.

As some have correctly stated, there is not always a reason for panic attacks. Last year I had many panic attacks, the first one being enourmous. There was no particular reason for it to happen - it just did.

Thanks for your kind words. Definitely John, but i'm unsure of Laura. I'd be surprised with Laura because typically replacement housemates who are brought in mid-season are always some of the strongest psychologically. I watched a fair amount of live feed last week, and never saw much evidence of her struggling with anxiety issues. I'd be loathed to say it was an act, but she just seemed quite a confident person to me. She may not have been confident on the same levels as - some of the bigger personalities, but i didn't see her struggling in front of the group, etc. I never saw her interview post leaving the house, did you? If so, how did she cope?

A panic attack is a name used to describe something when a Doctor has not got a clue what has happened.

One lot of mine were caused by supermarket lights. They are designed to disorientate so you will buy randomly. Unfortunately they have a really bad affect on some of us. I was prescribed a specially tinted lens and was able to shop without a 'panic attack.'
It is amazing how calm it is when I wear the glasses.

I am astonished he was allowed to go into the house as he still has issues about his father's death.

There is a 'reason' for panic attacks. (which are not 'attacks' in any sense) but that reason is, in itself, 'irrational' or maybe we can say 'for no good reason'.
However,
there is most definitely 'reasons' why it got there.

Look at it this way - if a smoke alarm is going off at the slightest waft of cooked sausage there is a 'reason'.
True, it ought not go off.
There was no fire and so you can say it went off for 'no good reason' but there are reasons why it was going off.

hmm...i don't know how many issues he has with his father's passing, it was a couple of years ago. i think it's in the realms of speculation...

Thanks for the insight. So basically Laura was just ungrateful/didn't wanna be Bens biatch LOL.

======

I agree with others, there's no panic attack without smoke.

I tend to get them when I'm getting better, so after the event.
with JJ he's said he's never had time to grieve for his dad, who knows what other stresses hes had in his life since, and now he's in BB.

I don't know...she was only 20, remember. Maybe it's as simple as she's been mollycoddled all her life and couldn't cope being away from her friends and family. She was probably pretty realistic and knew there was minimal chance she would win! Maybe i'm wrong, but i just didn't buy her "panic attack" spiel. Also seemed a bit coincidental that she went out the same fire exit, a day or so after John.

Everyone needs to ask themselses at least once a day, how they ae feeling. You have to try to rationalise your fear, as best you can, and when you've figured out what's bothering you try to deal with it as best you can.

Mostly I worry about being old and alone; that I'll have noone to love or be loved by. I feel I'd rather die than be alone. My immediate family consists of an agiing parent and an ageing dog. I have brothers and a sister, but they ave their own lives. Wish I ad my own life, so to speak.

Hey fizzy, i only started watching the live streams just after Govan left, so didn't see much of him...just the HL shows. He did seem to me a bit "deer caught in the headlights", when interviewed by Davina after his eviction. Was he another one who complained frequently of panic attacks?

Memory fading but I think you are right about that. At some point he said he was having panic attacks. I think it was over the anxiety of what would happen outside the house he worked himself into that.

well I don't know if he had any panic attacks as such but he did get worried for two days after a dream he's be lynched.

But tbh he was shaking on the way in and he got cheered so, nervous disposition?
