I thought it was JJ's dad.
Edit: Nevermind, JJ's dad was killed at work, it was an accident.
And it seems Joise's dad was murdered when she was seventeen.

she only told a few HM8s most don't know. She didn't want to make an issue of it unlike attn seeking sunshine.
She wanted to do well on BB under her own steam.

I don't think that is fair to Sunshine. And it's also rather insulting of the audience to think that they just vote on what has happened to someone before Big Brother. Not everyone is obsessed by stories from people's past, some people actually judge people by how they are in the house.

Maybe not. But it IS Josies POV. If you watched vulva-gate live you'd know that. and also previously iffy telling shabby & Keeva about Josies dad, as well as others parents/husbands and that.
It was Josie on vulva-gate night that said JJ should get over it cos we all knew what sunshine was like as her mum dying was one of the first thing she announced.
Personally, I think sunshine is strong, has been through a lot, but is a bit of a silly kid still. very intelligent & entertaining & unique though.

Maybe they are being leaked now by family members and friends to get Josie the sympathy vote! Sounds likely! Boring!

makes me think she is from a nasty family and she might actually be even nastier in real world
dad murdered and grandma on run for drugs offences
sounds very dodgy just like John Terry and his gangsta family

I agree, I feel sorry for Josie but if this is the case its a sick move to make, and has the opposite affect on me.

But some people still believe she is some naive, country bumpkin who sucks her thumb! With her background - makes it even less likely! :nono:

You should not be judging her because of things that happened for god sake the girl was 14 I cannot believe how harsh some are on this forum, it should have no bearing on her character.

IF true they are sad stories to tell but we all have sadness in our lives too, I get tired of the sob stories used in things that they have no real connection to,such as X factor and BB series.
I have had many tragic and sad things happen in my family's and also my friends lives too, but they are locked away in my memory with the affection I had and have for the people concerned.
Protecting their memory and my feelings so I dont go for sob stories and to be fair on this one to Jjames and Josie I don't think they have played this card either.Hope not anyway.

Don't blame it on them/josie. I was a josie fan and knew about her dad. It was really hard for me not to say something when all the hate came in, but I didn't cos I respected her choice to do things under her own steam.
Blame the fans, if anyone.
But DON'T blame Josie or her family.
BTW she told keely her brother was deaf, anyone know if that's true?

This.
It was alright for sunshine & corin but not alright for josie. and josie wasn't even the one who brought it up, unlike those two that made big announcements thinking theirs was the most harrowing story/they were the biggest victim.
Josie has NEVER tried to play on her past.
In fact, I think she fears it will turn her into jade goody. ANd RIP Jade, but Josie is better than that.

The naivety of youth!
Don't you get it?
1. So what? Does this have anything to do with BB? No.
2. Stories, stories, stories, you only have stories, rumours hearsay to go on. You don't know Josie or her family.
If you feel sorry for Josie because of this then you're an idiot.
It is irrelevant.
What happens in the house is all you should be talking about, everything else is BS.

I'm not buying it - too convenient! And it has nothing to do with her behaviour in the house - it certainly doesn't excuse it! Why should such a 'revelation' affect 'the hate' - doesn't change anything!
And she has been doing it under JJs steam, more than her own!

I supported Josie without knowing this fact until now, so it does make me warm to her even more. I love a sympathy story, so long as there's more substance to the HM than a sympathy story (looking at you, Steve). I'd like to hear Corin and Josie talk about it more, maybe with each other.

Well I mean yeah, but it's okay for people to tell others about when their dad died or when their friend died. Some people may actually like to talk about it with people they become close to, to share that very personal thing with them.

well I've gone off her, but am back into her again.
I went off her when she went a bit psycho over keeley re: cleaning, when she made keeley her puppet. that scared me

That's uncalled for!
It has nothing to do with her as a hm! It will clearly get her the sympathy vote now by some - predictable as ever! It happens every year!
Although it is a sad story - in my eyes, it doesn't compare with Steve's situation - and look how nasty people have been to him! So please don't single me out! :nono:

Yes, but it's not Josie's fault is it. She has not gone around telling people. Steve is totally different, because his sob story is obvious. And let's face it, what else does Steve bring to the house apart from a sob story?

We don't know if Josie may have had anything to do with it - none of us know what people may have planned with family/friends before coming in. Not that I am saying that is the case - but it could be - we don't know!
And personally - I don't believe she brings anything to the house but jumping onto the 'fake' romance bandwagon! I prefer Steve's brand of boring to hers!

I am not even a Josie fan. They're both boring yes, but Steve on has a sob story, that is a fact.
