Darius played his new single Colourblind on GMTV on Tuesday morning 30/7/02.
He explained how he did not want to go down the same road as Will and Gareth but wanted to play real music, was not interested in cover versions or electronic beats.
A man after my own heart. The song is pretty good too.
He was also in the papers today saying that he had turned down numerous offers to do adverts as he was not interested in making loads of money, just in his music. He criticised Gareth for advertising Pepsi. I agree, people who can influence youngsters should not try to get them to buy America's favourite tooth solvent!

I really hope he does get to No 1 on Sunday. He has a lot of talent and deserves to do well, especially after the way he has shrugged off comments and criticisms from his time on Popstars!
Go for it, Darius!
:hello: :hello:
Darius is number 1 in the charts :hello: :bouncy: :hello:

I am so pleased that Darius has got to number one with song that he co-wrote, that shows talent and tenacity!!!!!!
Maybe he will get a triple platinum album by the time he's 35 :spin2:
He might even get one by the time he's 25!

I bought this yesterday, because I think the lad deserves to be a success.
He has turned down the Simon Cowell dead cert package, written his own songs and he looks an absolute treat!
Oh, and can I just say that he sounds great too! Three songs for £2.99 on a cassette, two of them original, and a live rendition of 'It's not unusual' thrown in, complete with screaming fans!
The third track, Butterfly, is really good too.
As I said to OH. Darius has everything old Enrique Inglesias, and Ricky Martin have going for them. Maybe that triple platinum album isn't so far fetched an idea after all!
I'm so pleased Darius made No. 1 as well
As much as I like Will, it was always Darius I really wanted to win.
I hope he goes far.

I hate to admit it but I really liked Darius on Popstars  although i'm glad he didn't get picked, it's worked out so much better this way - you couldn't picture him in Hear'say or Liberty X, I think he is a great solo artist.
I'm so pleased he managed to get so far on Pop Idol and it put him in a much better light. I think people respect him much more now and it's proved he can sing live (if necessary!).
The fact that he's gorgeous doesn't come into it!...........(Those eyes!:spin:).
I hate to admit it but I really liked Darius on Popstars
So did I.

Me, too! I thought his rendition of Baby One More Time was a result of the vocal coach advising him to show his range. So he used one of his own songs, but they would let him use his guitar so they had no idea whether he was in tune or not. He and another contestant were asked to do something else, so he did the version of BOMT to show his range.
The other wannabe's gave him massive applause, and were shocked when he was rejected. People only started saying how stupid he was when the papers told them to!
By the way, some of Darius' other renditions of BOMT earlier in Popstars were brilliant!

Good for you Darius. I always thought he had a bit of a hard time on Pop Idol, didnt think he always got the songs that necessarily suited his voice. I really admire the fact that he didnt take the easy route - doing covers and stuck to his guns. He said he wanted to record his own work and by golly he's pulled out a good un with Colourblind and my wonderful son (gotta say that he's watching over my shoulder) bought me the CD as a surprise tonight. I think there was an ulterior motive cos he just said he wants to borrow my car tomorrow night. How can I say No.
Looks like Darius is staying at number one for another week according to Ananova  :wavey:
