He's come in from 8th fave 2 nights ago to 4th fave and still shortening, looks set to overtake Josie by tomorrow night.

And it seems loads of viewers like him too based on entertainment value.

Not according to the channel 4 poll.

Don't mistake forum posters with the general public lol although we technically are we aren't that representative i don't think.

Hope i'm wrong.

I think he could take it and I do quite like the idea of him in the house with other BB greats. If he can win the Save and Replace task next week I can see him coming in the top 3.

Its Betfair... and all the other betting sites have him at 4th fave (which counts a lot for things as loads of people put money on bets).

Well rather him than Josie, but I still don't want him to win.

I was responding to a post by him about viewers not betting...

Also people haven't seen the argument which will unfold on HL show tonight I would think and then continue tommorow.

See England World Cup 2010 odds for what can happen to "favs" btw.

Christ, if Sam won that would be ridiculous, he entered the house far too late!

But how unfair would it be on the other HMs? (Not that I'm saying BB has ever been fair)

Its Betfair... and all the other betting sites have him at 4th fave (which counts a lot for things as loads of people put money on bets).

It's called a "ramp" in gambling jargon. When gamblers spot that a new HM has had some interest, they'll back heavily at the longest odds. For example, I got on-board @ 35/1 and will lay as soon as I adjudge the ramp can go no further

Because a new HM will be receiving bets in a very short period compared to the others (where much of the money went on weeks ago), the action of the ramp will accelerate the odds-shortening quickly to a false level.

Gamblers will then lay-off their bets at the shorter odds for a guaranteed instant profit, irrespective of what happens to the HM (the amount of the instant profit will equate to the difference in value between the higher odds backed-at and the lower value of the lower odds layed at).

In exactly this fashion, Andrew was ramped all the way down to 4/1 by manipulation by gamblers - they then offloaded and Andrew fell back up to his natural odds level.

Simples really

Read above on how to understand/recognise a gambling "ramp"

Unfair.. well what was the point of him going in then?

What?? like no new housemates should win?
