Just to let you know, these are in the wrong forums. There's seperate forums for each series and other shiznits too.

www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/index <-- Easiest to navigate from there.

Voted Helen.

Yeah but the thing is the seperate forums are not very well visited. And the thing is I'm doing polls for all sorts of categories for something I made up called the TIBB Big Brother Awards and on the whole it's kind of relevant to this particular part of the forum anyway. Later on I'll be asking about peoples' favourite diary room chair and their favourite BB eye and such. Them polls will definitely have to be posted here.

Helen!

I remember seeing Elizabeth on the ferry crossing to Ireland, she was just as boring in real life.

It's so long ago now, I struggle to remember what they looked like. I voted Bubble because I do remember he was a funny guy.

Bubble is actually one of the only people I remember from BB2. I think this is the BB that I watched the least of... after BB10. Anyway I voted for Brian Dowling cos' I remember him a little better and he was pretty cool.

bubble. Brian most overrated hm ever. Was bitchy to Josh just because he wanted to be the only gay in the house. I'm sick of peole going on about how he changed the publics attitude to gay people. Rubbish

Of course it isn't rubbish. Up until that point there had been no known openly gay person on children's TV until Brian presented SM:tv.

This recent article sums it up eloquently:

Big Brother, Brian Dowling and Gay Pride
10.01.00am BST (GMT +0100) Fri 9th Jul 2010

It was London LGBT Pride last weekend, which got me and some friends talking about gay equality in the pub earlier this week. I suggested, controversially it seems, that Brian Dowling and Big Brother did far more for gays in the UK than most.

Now before too many people start shouting, I think Peter Thatchell is bloody great and Stonewall have been (note the past tense there) good at pushing forward the equity agenda and I am sure there are countless others, from those involved in the 'Spanner' case to every brave individual that has said "I am gay" (sometimes to terrible reactions or to homophobic violence.

But Brian Dowling in Big Brother 2, in 2001, showed a gay on television who was out and not just another Larry Grayson (I have nothing against Larry but he hardly showed gays as anything other than camp). Yes Brian was quite camp but he was happy to stand his ground and what is more he was open and proud of being gay - before Brian there had never been anyone on television quite like Brian!

What's more Brian won the nation's hearts and 58% of those that voted did so for Brian - that's an awful lot of non-gays voting for Brian (or a shed-load of gays voting a lot!).

All of a sudden being gay was okay - people liked Brian and saw past the fact he was gay, I believe this helped a lot of people come out and feel more comfortable with their sexuality.

Big Brother has always had gays in it, other reality shows have followed their lead and now gays are in virtually every soap-opera and television programme (someone in the pub did thinks Colin and Barry's kiss in Eastenders was groundbreaking but it was never followed, unlike Brian's success).

Clearly there is a long way to go with achieving gay equality and sadly far too much homophobic violence still exists, but most people know a gay person and realise they are okay. Big Brother continue to push boundaries with Nadia the transsexual, countless bisexuals and Asian, black and mixed-raced gays (there tends to extra problems for BME gays).

Brian and Big Brother, in my opinion, really changed society's views of gays and to quote Brian made people realise gay really did mean as 'Good As You'.
