Christian? Well he believes in Christ so yeah in a way he is.

Harmless? Still undecided on that one.

What's a true Christian?

Is there a scale of Christian-ness that we non-Christians can judge Dave on or should we crucify him and let the maker be the judge?

Maybe you get true Christian and magnetic Christian? I don't know it sounds like an ill informed topic to flame someone on to me.

We'll never know, he is strangely shy about coming forward with what his belief system is.
I'm not dedicated enough to get to a Sloshfest but I'd love to know what impact Dave and his Organisation has on their followers. I think he has raised enough alarming claims for People to validly assume that there is cause for concern, espescially as they openly target societys most vunerable.

False dichotomy makes it impossible to answer question with any 'yes or no' answer that would make any sense.

Sorry. the question should be simply "Is Dave Harmless".

What do you think?

I think Dave is just generally a fake everything!
There's not a genuine bone in his body.

He pretended to be so offended because Camhoidhhoodi had a wet shirt on yet he seems very comfortable with jumping into bed with young girls and putting his hands all over them.
He's constantly coming out with smutty innuendos too.

Revolting man!

I could have him but then I'm a big guy. I think a good curry or possibly a small roast chicken would do well to stay clear of him on the outside but I'd say on the whole he's pretty harmless.

He is not harmless.
If he belives everything he says i.e. he has visited the sun, knows a wearwolf ect. He should be sectioned and have his kids taken away.
If he doesn't belive it, then he is a fraud and a conman.
In both cases he is far from harmless

Harmless to himself maybe but then I don't give a monkeys what he thinks to himself .. its the people he draws in to his Cult that concern me, I think its a huge cause for concern and potentially far from Harmless.

Its quite difficult to get someone sectioned under the Mental Health Act, if the UK decided to start sectioning people simply because of wierd beliefs we would need somewhere the size of Wales to put them all.

Absolutley .. and each to their own, everyones perogative to be as mad as they like .. however if those deluded People were recruiting followers to buy into their 'reasoning' it would become a problem.
If Dave and co were going after stable, 'undamaged' people, fine .. but they are not .. they actively set targets on the most desperate .. I find that very worrying.

Oh i agree totaly, but there comes a stage when these people need to be protected from there own stupidity. Particularly if they have people relying on them to put food on the table and pay the rent ect.

'Sorry love, no food this week, plenty of imaginary booze and drugs though, Dave sold them to me and i only had to sell the car and house. Oh and pack your bags, we're going to live in his comune, he said there would be loads of kool-aid so we won't be thirsty'.

Its not the 'stupid' ones that worry me, its the desperate ones who are ready to cling on to a bit of hope.

Exactly. Very well said.
All religion is born out of a fear of death, and the hope that we will get 1 more chance to see our dead loved ones.
When people start worrying about this, they stop living their life to the fullest, just incase the blow there chance at ever lasting bliss, or 72 virgins or whatever.
Chauncey your right its very sad, and i don't mean that in the drippy kind of way.

Absolutley, and if the people buying in to it aren't financially exploited then hey ho, alls well. However, it begs the question, how are they funding the 'Cause' I haven't heard Dave explain that bit except for a flippant remark he made to Keely which quite frankly was quite alarming. (As I cant recall the exact figure he mentioned I won't attempt to repeat what was said but it was on th HL show so I'm sure you all heard it too)

I find it hard to believe that some evil cult leader guy chose entering BB to bring awareness to the faith. Surely with all the loot stolen from the duped cult members some sort of flyer campaign or cunning adverts in the local church news letter would have been achievable?

Probably convincing old people to 'have fun and join the glory'(and give up all their life savings)

Wouldnt suprise me in the slightest to see Dave in the papers in a few years for trying to con people with his 'drunk on jesus' lies.

But people like that are egotists who think scamming people isnt a crime.
Dodgy pastors like that often begin to believe their own lies and think they have a special link to God that justifies their position of power and gathering 'donations' for 'the cause'.

Don't really think Dave is scamming old ladies lol,but he has talked about/there are videos of him on youtube of him on 'conventions' in America, where there are obviously gullible, feebleminded fools attending, and I doubt Dave is just going for 'the glory',he's making money off someone along the way.

Conform to the thought police people. Looks like Big Brother really is among us. The stories Dave comes out with might sound bizzare but I can verify they are true. The supernatural does exist.

Everyone seems so conerned about Dave and the money thing. Do you all really believe that Dave is the only minister ever to take donations or accept money? The Catholic Church is the richest owner of fine art in the world, while people are dying for the want of a drink of clean water. The Church of England is one of the richest landowners in the country, while people sleep on the streets because they've got nowhere else to go. I believe individuals may be doing it because they have faith, but the organised, patriarchal religions of the world do not demonstrate that they care about anything other than controlling the masses and making them believe they are "miserable sinners" who need forgiveness.

he is a fraud and a liar and I would imagine he is taking money under false pretences (but then all religions kind of do that)

He is not a Christian but follows a cult based on Christianity, which is also a cult. Kind of what Mormonism is.

Its just his way of feeling important.

I would imagine that if questioned about evolution etc he would sound like a prize fool.

Whilst you make a decent point you could make that point re starving/homeless people for any large company or organisation in the world

You could ask how on earth do we give 1 person 50 million quid in a lottery etc

Not really the point they are making is that the church is supposed to be seen as benevolent, not a going concern. Lottery winners are entitled to do with it what they want.... unless they are priests etc. :D

Business organisations don't preach Faith, Hope and Charity, whereas religion does. Also, if businesses didn't exist, they wouldn't employ people and there'd be even more poor people in the world. I have no excuse for the banks.

I suppose there could be a valid argument that the lottery also helps "good causes". Personally I think the lottery is a tax on the hopelessly optimistic.

I ahve been sceptical of Dave from day one, he annoys me with his lord nonsense and glory and his show of reading the bible daily, but always seeing and knowing whats going on around him while he is doing so, when I read anuthing I am really depply interested in, I am oblivious to what is happning around me,anyway if he's read the Bible every day for years he must know it back to front, word for word.

Dave is harmless to anyone with a braincell. He's a nice, sociable guy with a great imagination. If anyone is stupid enough to believe that he heals werewolves and wants to donate to his church - that says more you about them than him.

Dave's offshoot of Christianity has as much right to exist as any religion. All of them are Harry Potter clubs for grown ups - relics of a tribal past where we all cowered from the moon. They are all about propogation of the race and forcing a code of conduct on people via the fear of eternal damnation.

Christianity is proven to be cobbled together from various bits of ancient religions and has a long history of taking money from people for their 'absolution'. Killing non-believers in the crusades, claiming ownership of the 'Holy Land', a white Jesus from the middle-east, making Mary Magdalene a ***** in later rewrites of the bilbe (to subdue women). Centuries of fools. :)
