If you yawn and someone in the room doesn't yawn too that means they have a lack of empathy. I won't tell you what that means but it'd be interesting to see if Dave yawned at HMs which ones didn't yawn back.

You sure yawning is a sign of empathy? Dave being boring might be a factor but if your right and if Ben was still in then Ben would NOT have yawned.

Yes I'm right. If you yawn convincingly at someone and they don't yawn back it shows they have no empathy. I saw it on BBCs Luther. That's how he knew that Alison was a sociopath!

so zero empathy = sociopath. I think I've heard that too. None in the house are that far gone but many are super selfish.
Yawning might show another trait though. A kind of herd mentality or a "follower" type of person. ie Alpha male or female yawn then the rest do. Those who don't yawn might just hate Dave and think him a prat.

Thanks for explaining Sams reaction, he smiled/laughed to himself.

Not sure if you can gleam any great insights into that mini-experiment. I watched a bit of it on live feed, and they knew he was acting a bit weird, or up to a secret task...coz he kept mentioning - am i boring you etc... Corin & Steve where certainly just playing along with him - and gave a "token" yawn. Obviously yawning also varies on tiredness, warmth, lack of oxygen to the brain etc... Also, roughly half the population do not yawn contagiously.

I must be very full of empathy. I only have to see the word yawn and I start. I kid you not.

People would have yawned at Ben though lol, he did drone on at times.

I think yawning is to do with tiredness, but why it is done is still a mystery I think. Logically it would seem to be about breathing more air in when maybe someone isn't doing enough of that.

even my cat yawns. But I don't know if inter-species yawning empathy is possible.

That's very wolly thinking OP. Yawning has never been fully understood or explained and there's many reasons why it could be triggered.

We can make our dog yawn by yawning when she's looking at us

woah!
Corins yawn was fake.
Which means dave's 30 minute effort in getting her to yawn by yawning at her, along with her continueing the task when everyone else stopped proves she has a lack of empathy.
however her doing the fake yawn for dave to pass the task, proves she does, actually have some.
