I swear that she's in part trying to annoy him intentionally, so he blows up, and is possibly evicted. Before they went in there, John was trying to convince her that it's not worth doing the task and spending 24hrs away from the other HMs (on potentially their last week), and at that stage she was playing along with it. Once they got in there, John wanted to quit - almost straight away, then i believe she was thinking she would look better if she stayed (also realizing John would like a complete TOOL for quitting after 15 mins), so she said she now liked the room, and would stay on her own if need be. Then John was reluctantly guilted into re-joining her, and straight away she started up with her verbal diarrhea - full throttle mode. Maybe i'm reading too much into it, but i really think she's doing the math now, and thinking it will be beneficial for her chances of staying if she can make him crack! She might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but she knows she's there to annoy the crap out of him for 24hrs...
