Once again a question about this that is the 'wrong question' and doesn't understand what is going on here.

He is 'drunk' but what we mean here is that he has worked himself into a psychosomatic ecstatic state.
It is not 'play acting' although you can argue that he can 'act himself into this' but he believes it,
and,
in a real way he is 'drunk' and in this sense - yes, his sympathetic nervous, his brain chemicals.. they really are 'acting accordingly'.

I strongly recommend people do some googling on this before making polls and thinking they called 'FAKE!' or these things,
and,
I will recommend checking out some Derren Brown vids on youtube where he can hypnotize students to be 'drunk'.

This is getting really annoying but more the problem is that people cannot even begin to see the real problem and actual damaging consequences that can happen.

Instead we get mouth-breathers who call 'FAKE!' at anything. .ugh.. idiots.

I don't believe him, but sometimes I believe he believes it. Can't decide if it's a delusion or a con, but I suspect if you pushed him over in his "drunken" state he'd find his balance before crashing into a wall. If a cop gave him a sobriety test while driving "drunk on the lord" with a DUI at stake I think he'd miraculously pass. That's not drunk.

In what way would it be a con? He's not gaining anything from 'pretending' to be drunk and if anything hes losing fans.
If he went into the house and didn't mention his outside life or beliefs he'd still be branded fake for not showing all of his personality or whatever the usual bull**** is!
Of course he would pass a test because he hasn't actually drunk any alcohol which is what the tests pick up on,its a state of being which is similar to many other examples both in christianity and in the secular world, but people seem to feel free to show no consideration to his beliefs just because he's a christian as opposed to any other religion which would be much less of a target.
If you dont like him vote him out.

I mean con in the sense that he's pretending to be in X state knowingly, as opposed to delusion where he's unaware he's not in X state. And as I already said, I'm not sure which Dave's practicing. I have the same opinion on all "transcendental" states of all religions, but nice try attacking my assumed positions. And as much as I don't like Dave, I'd never vote him out this week. Villains are important, and Rachel is worthless.

Its an act to make being a christian more enjoyable, and to make people think he's a really great guy.

Sad thing is, Dave is a very funny guy, he doesn't need the god stuff, ironicly its his act that makes him funny.

He went into BB to promote his branch of Born Agains ... to (presumably) illustrate that his following is 'harmless' and 'fun' and 'loving' ... in the same way he travels up and down the Country promoting it on High Streets etc ...
not so benign as while most people will brand him 'fake' and so on ... a proportion will wonder if it could possibly HELP them. If it ended there .. fine but untill it has become clear how this Sect (or whatever) is financed it has to be assumed that is is the Followers financing it ... now look at who they target ... societys most vunerable and its not looking so harmless.
I am a Christian (no fixed church), Dave is entitled to believe in all the fairies, ghouls and heavenly intoxications he wants, when he uses it as a tool to recruit, it becomes offensive and opens him up to criticism and question.

he is not drunk on the Lord as he claims as that does not exist and never has. It is dave's way of drawing attention to himself and feeling important.

For example if someone said "dave your wife has broken her leg" then he would instantly "sober up"

Think of this in the same light as Derek Acona speaks to Michael Jackson

Of couse he isn't drunk in the chemical sense of the word (alcohol) - but in a self-induced, psychological, hypnotic state - that doesn't have the same lasting effects as alcohol! It all seems as weird to me as anyone - but when have most religious beliefs not been weird! ie.

Muslims make women cover themselves with a facemask
Jehova's witnesses would rather their child died than have a blood transfusion to save them
Catholics believe that any kind of birth control is a sin
Men from many relgions walk round in fancy frocks etc

All religions have strange, weird practices - why are his so different!

This. Despite looking crazy as hell, it's a very well documented phenomenon. The power of the mind. I think people are getting confused by Dave's terminology and the dubious benefits of getting blatted for religious reasons.

Actually, I think people are more pissed off that they spend half their wages down the boozer when they could be getting hammered for free just by meditating? :D
