Talk turned to John James's bank account this evening, as Mario gave David a massage in the bedroom.
The minister kicked off the conversation, asking the former mole if he's aware how much money John James has in the bank. "He's a seven figure man!" David told him, saying that his mum is rich and some of the money has trickled down to him.
Overhearing the chat, Josie was keen to learn more. "Are you a millionaire?" she asked the Australian. "I thought you just had £100,000! How can you be a millionaire? There's no way you could be a millionaire, you haven't done anything."
He queried: "Millionaire in what? Assets? Or cash?" explaining that in terms of assets he is indeed a millionaire.
"My ex was a millionaire, then," said Josie. "You don't seem really, really wealthy anyway. Apart from all your nice clothes. But I just thought you were an idiot with money."
She still didn't appear to believe him, however. "But... you're just comfortable, aren't you?" she probed. "Yes," he replied. "But I don't work, do I? I've been to London three times. My car was £87,000. Work it out."
"Have I just hit the jackpot?" laughed the 25-year-old, who began fishing for more information. "Why is it important?" asked John James.
"Because I want to know. You ask me things about myself," she replied, as he tried to change the subject by asking what day it is.
"When I was saying buy me a scooter and a car, I was only joking, mind," Josie told him. "I know," he replied, as she added: "Then again, if you want to..."
Putting the topic to rest once and for all, he asked: "Why am I wearing a **** dress?" before making a move to get out of bed.

Tbh I didn't want Judith Keppel to win Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? because she was already a millionaire. But Big Brother's an entirely different gameshow, it's more about how entertaining they are after several weeks of itneractign with others whereas Keppel had to just answer 15 questions in the space of 2 hour long episodes

Maybe his 'wealth' is the root of many of his issues! Perhaps he has had some bad experiences with the good-looking girls who have ended up being after his money! Maybe he thinks a plainer, less attractive girl like Josie is likely to be less money grabbing and more appreciative of him! It is all beginning to make more sense!
If that is the case - I think he is wrong - because everything suggests that Josie is not as innocent and honest as she has lead him and us to believe. He is too close to the situation - and needs to get to know her better in the real world before rushing into any such rushed and ill-advised judgements!

If JJ wins and doesn't need the money, will he donate £30,000 to buy Steve a new leg, seeing as how he banged on about how much he respected him, yada yada yada? Was he one of the ones who Shabby said had agreed to this? Even if not, he wouldn't miss a few grand now, would he?

Interesting thread. She does seem quite interested in his money, and he's pretty, what a token boyfriend he would be for her lol.

Does having money make you a bad person - no, I do think that maybe having things easy may explain why he acts the way he does sometimes, it doesnt seem to be something he brags about but the circumstances he got the money are not particularly nice. I think you may be right that the so called models he has dated have been into him because of his money and that is why he questions everyone and everything. I actually quite agree with some of his morals. I totally agreed with him about the whole Mole picking Dave you wouldnt do this to someone you really called your friend.
I am also one of the minority that have always thought he was actually into Josie more that she him, but he is very conscious that his mum is watching, and it seems they have a very close mother son relationship.

Maybe his 'wealth' is the root of many of his issues!
He only came into the money recently so it cant be the root of his issues. Roots go way back.
I think the roots of his issues are more sexual. We all know about his 30 seconds cum problems. Plus I saw an earlier convo he had in the beginning of the series where he says that he could happily go without ever having sex.
What a weird thing for a young guy to say! He obviously has sexual hang ups! Poor Josie. No sausage on the menu it seems!

His wealth has nothing to do with it, he has as much right to win it as anyone else.

Josie loves it, maybe she did know about the money after all...
I'm sure she'd swap her Bristol shed for La Dolche Vita in Autraila in a second

totally agree
I think his "romance" with Josie and what appears to be a pretty bad week for him this week could be his downfall though

I want a deserving winner, as in someone who I found to be entertaining. I don't care about their personal finances.

John James told Caoimhe and Josie about it in a conversation they had in the bedroom when the Corin bitching was going on.. it's all from his inheritance of his fathers death and some property things apparently:).

I seriously doubt that! She wouldnt be so intrigued by it now. Truth is, she fell for him before knowledge of his money. At this point its just an intriguing additional aspect to him.
But, of course, Josie haters will now claim she's a golddigger.
I want a deserving winner....
So do I. And it certainly ain't him! He's an aggressive baby who stamps his feet about leaving when he doesnt get his own way. I could go on....

JJ wont leave no matter how bad a week he has because BB wont show it and I think the number of people who see live feed is a very small percentage of voting public.
Yes if theyre entertaining, which John James is. Thankyou lol

Well that's fine but because he already has money shouldn't be a reason imo

It doesn't matter how much money someone already has. It's about the winners status not just winning the money too.

I suppose its possible that his dad wasnt just a construction industry worker and actually owned the firm.
Who cares how rich he is, his wealth doesnt make him any more or less deserving of winning does it? In my opinion he couldnt get much less deserving anyway even without his supposed wealth.

Interesting point. It certainly makes sense, although he doesn't seem to bothered about the housemates knowing of his fortune.
If it is true and he has had bad experiences with gold diggers then I hope it works out for him with Josie. Saying that, I bet Josie can't believe her double luck now.

Firstly, how vulgar of people to ask him about it, and secondly, how vulgar of him to talk about it. If he's so rich, why was he working in a surf shop? Actually, who cares? All the money in the world couldn't buy him a decent personality and a balanced mind.

I do see your point and agree with it, but my guess is that most people only dream of this wealth and in many cases never come across someone with such wealth.
I think the general interest is in how much and where did he get it from. Whether that's rude or not, I don't think they realise this.

I'd be very insulted if you asked me how much money I have, but I know you wouldn't do that because you're polite and well-mannered (even though we disagree sometimes!). Not that I want to imply I'm vastly wealthy or anything... Some people seem to be overawed by the thought that someone else might have some money! Firstly, I'm not sure I believe the story, and secondly, it still wouldn't change my mind about him if it was true.
Incidentally... I'm STILL trying to swap you bloomin' avatar off my screen! :-)
