In the eviction polls Rachel is way ahead, BUT, Dave is still more popular than John James. Even in the house Dave is more popular than John James.
The plot thickens.

And its all because of some manic teenage girls who can't keep their hormones in check. What a pity :bored:

TBH i really want Dave out, not liked him since day 1, but failing that JJ would do, but i really dont want Rachel to go, but looking at the odds it will be Rachel sadly:bawling:

You're got to admit though that you're the exception not the rule. The majority of John James fans are teenage girls who fancy him. If you say anything else then I suspect you're one of those teenage girls in disguise ;)
yeah but people tend to hate entertaining housemates and love the more boring ones. Its just the sad culture we live in :/

So true. If John James 'popularity' was lessened by the teenage girl quotient he would be about the same popularity level as Nathan was.

I dont think Dave is more popular, its just that JJ and Rachel get more of the attention in voting, Rachel because she is loud and annoying and JJ because he is gorgeous.

So first you tell me I'm on my own, then next you don't allow me to disagree with you, otherwise that would make me a teenage girl?
OK
Anyway, putting that to one side, yes I do believe that his fan-base is made up of mainly teenage girls and perhaps a few boys too, but he does have some adult BB fans that enjoy his antics in the house.
See, I didn't disagree with you, and not because of what you said, I can speak up if I need to ;)
TBH it gets very tiresome when some members group everybody in the same category.

Rubbish, alot of his fans are people that DONT fancy him, straight guys like myself, lesbians, bi's, gays and straight girls. Its not JUST because they fancy him so get real

Where did this myth start that John James has been entertaining. He argued a bit, then realised he was more popular on the outside (thanks to the new HMs) then he jumped into bed with Josie after saying he ONLY SAW HER AS A SISTER! Wtf? Now he cringes away everytime Josie touches him (note , when not under the covers) and sits around doing nothing. He only interacts with Josie, barely, when is he entertaining? WHAT has he done that is entertaining?

Just look at the forum for the last couple of weeks, he's been centre of attention and all over it. The most talked housemate out of them all! Isn't that what we like? Characters that create alot of talking points?
He didnt want to be percieved as somebody who would do romance on the show so said he was just friends with her, and then he would of seen what would happen outside the house. Clearly a bit too late now, but still. He's a funny guy in general, speaks his mind, causes debates.
Should win, but won't because of bore-hunting people like you.

yeah Im protesting against having a boring bunch of housemates left in the house. We need to keep the entertaining ones like John James mate

Not at all, I am also not manic or a teenager. If your logic is correct then why isn't JJ2 now one the favourites to win as he's also a goodlooking man?

Just because he hasn't entertained you does not mean he hasn't entertained other people.

Oh come on Visage, you know better than that. For a start the second sentence (about your being a teenage girl for saying that) was clearly said tongue in cheek - big clue - winky face after it!!! LOL.

What eh? You have agreed with me. I said MOST of his fans are teenage girls (not all) and you have just written above that his fans are MAINLY teenage girls - that IS agreeing with me!
OK, you have agreed with me this time, I let you off with it this time but if you ever agree with me again... ;)

I don't think that is what people are doing. It simply a matter that whether you (or anyone else for that matter) likes it or not BB plans HM based on the demographics they will attract (or repel) it's part of the deal.
Producers want to make money = put HMs in that the advertisers know will attract a certain demographic = stereotypical HMs and production bias towards certain types of HM.
I mean, how much bloody Freederm (and all the other teen to 25/30 yrs old max stuff shown (product placed in the house) and on the ad breaks do you think they would sell to the type of fans Dave, Ben or Steve gets? LOL.
John James, John James and Josie 'Hollyoaks storyline' are gold to the sponsors and advertisers - so demographics are real, not an imagined contrived fixation of people here like you suggest.

One, he hasn't been in there that long.
Two, John James took that spot before JJ went into the house. No need = no fulfilment of need - simples. :)
Three, teenage girls have to have the romance storyline that goes with it to really get behind that kind of support - which is why the romance storyline has been pushed by BB; JJ doesn't have that.
Four, teenage girls tend not to go for young gay men. JJ is acting like a gay man.
It's not simply a matter of being 'good looking', in fact you could put a dog ugly guy in there with the right conditions and teenage girls would piss themselves to get to him - it's rock and roll man, it's showbiz, there are plenty of substandard looking guys who appear famous, bands, TV and girls drop for them all the time.

where's the link that says Dave in more popular than John? Or are your talking about this weeks the eviction numbers? If so then those numbers are saying John has more haters than boring Dave.
Abhorsen I wasnt insulting you. I was just saying you like Boring Housemates.

Ok, If that is true how come Kris was so unpopular? As was Paul from BB2. Both were in the conditions you described. Also Staurt Wilson wasn't overly popular either from what I can remember

There are always exceptions to every rule. And they made some pretty fatal mistakes that John James is yet to make.

exceptions to the rule??? I've named 3 out of 11 big brothers, that's hardly exceptions! Name me a few other past HMs then that followed this rule?

My comments were following my original comment of how the word ALL was used. I was agreeing with you on how you used the word majority and not ALL which is where this converastion came about.
I don't think that is what people are doing.
This grouping fans into one category was brought on because of the original quote I spoke about.
It's not the first time and I know it wont be the last, that's where I was going with my comment. This is not an isolated incident, it's quite evident many posters type away then submit without reading back what they are trying to say and it can lead to upset and confusion, rather than a healthy debate or a bit of banter.
