Ive thought this for a while but tonights HL show pretty much confirmed it. Whenever Sam was verbally abusing Josie you never once heard John James pipe up, if you care for someone you step in, he kept shtum. When Sam started with him tonight he pretty much froze, no comebacks and he pretty much submitted to him.

Sam had a go at John James re: not wearing his costume (which could lose more shopping budget for the group) and although JJ fought back he had to put the costume on or everyone else would pile on him, so therefore in his mind Sam won, which is a no-go-zone. So he had a stab at Dave about something to do with gruel, when he should have had a go at Sam, who is the reason he was in a mood.
I would say he's probably afraid of Sam's leverage from outside information.

Tbh, i think it goes deeper than that. Theres a trait in Sams personality that John James is afraid of and therefore wont challenge him.

and this, Sam has the rue air of "not giving a ****" that JJ1 claims to have and can't back up with actions.

tbh Sam acted the big man calling JJ a ***** over the whole not wearing his costume and JJ told him to shut up for the first time and Sam back down straight away he didn't want to argue with him i think Sam is scared of John .

I dont think Sam was acting the big man though, he was telling the truth and saying what most of the other housemates were probably thinking.

Its great that Sam's making John James look weak, especially in front of Josie :)

sam will always win in the house simply because there cant be any violence, i can guarentee that if it was outside the house John would have won because sam would have been scared of physical violence.

sam has challenged john james many times and even said you keep picking on people who don't want to fight back and i am here? then sat right next to him

Physical violence is for morons and trailer trash!

Violence is always the last resort for bullies who have lost an argument.

I also think there is an element that John James knows what sams doing but it is very easy for the bullied to become the bullies and I think John can see this happening and wants to avoid being involved in it, if sam directs the insult directly at him he deals with it - on the whole Josie issue with Sam I think this is why he seems to be pulling away from Josie a little because if she really dislikes Sam, John cant understand why she doesnt walk away but she laughs at him which makes John thinks she is ok with it.

he isn't scared of him he is scared of looking stupid as he knows sam is way more confident. John James isn't a natural confrontational type of guy.

So its better to just say "shut the **** up" 25 times ?
John james or jj pushed sam once, he would fall on his arse and run away tail between his legs, putting him in his place..

Sam backed down anyway..
Soon as John James stood up and told him to shut up called him a *****, pushed him..

Sam didnt say one word.

I think the most telling thing of all is that Jjames since SAM went in has never took him on over Josie, JJames has laughed at most of what Sam has said and Jjames even doubted Josie's word as to what Sam had said to her.
It seems JJames expects Josie to jump to all his dramas etc, but she's on her own with hers.
I think that shows she really has little meaning to him at all.

john james is a pussy. he only picks on the weak characters.

Skippy only picks on the weak - Sam is much more intelligent, braver & stronger than him.

That's the most likely reason imo. But this is true of most people, everyone has people that they find harder to handle for one reason or another

I don't think John James is really scared of Sam exactly. I think John James is scared of being made to look like a fool. Which is mad, becuase he does such a brilliant job of it all on his own.

JJ1 does not want to react to Sam, if he can help it.

Sam is scared of anyone getting physical with him. When JJ2 tried to take the key off his neck he looked scared, and the same when JJ1 flapped his hand in Sam's face.

JJ1 sacred of Sam? What?
Josie can take care of herself. If John chipped in they'd be calls of "2 against 1" and "bullying".

I don't think anyone is scared of Sam and they shouldn't be either, they need to stick up for themselves and not take any s**t.

JJ won't confront Sam because he's afraid of what might come out of Sam's mouth. JJ already looks a complete prat, who knows what else Sam might say to make him squirm?:D

"afraid of what might come out of Sam's mouth"
lol... don't think so. Like what? Everything he has said in he DR he has said to Josie.
I don't think JJ1 is "afraid" of Sam at the least. Sam's "mission" is to bait hms. JJ1 knows that as do all in the house except Josie. Why give Sam what he wants? JJ1 set him straight and Sam didn't squeak after that. You guys are dreaming.

Yep, I noticed this right from the off .. JJames backed down everytime Sam had a go at Josie .. he is frightened to stand up to him ..

Josie cottoned on right away that JJames was going to be no support to her ..

JJames even went as far as pretending he was trying to be the middle-man and keep the peace .. rather than challenge Sam regards his verbal insults .. what a wuss JJames !

John James is playing a game with Josie. He wants to win BB. Allegedly he has spent £16,000 in air fares (presumably first class) go to and fro between UK and Oz.

But JJ1 knows it's all fake and so how can he deny what Sam is saying, in the circumstances.

Sam, however, prefers to attack Josie. Wrong target!
