I agree with your first point, and to a degree you're right about Dave mocking others, but its not cheap nor nasty.

I think Dave has really loosened up over the last few weeks and he's revealing a very dry kinda wit that's a nice tonic to all the silly tomfoolery and silliness. I mean, he's no Steven Wright or Stewart Lee, but yeah, he's not a try hard with his humour.
