BB will not get a true winner as long as these scams are allowed to carry on imo.

was that on the big brother section on twitter.

That is ridiculous.
People try watered down versions of that on here, which are obviously fake...but to someone who doesnt watch BB, or doesnt think...many could ring that line for tickets to the justin bieber thingy :/

Well apparently they have,it was particulaly bad the week Ben was evicted and rachael and apparently it is up and running to get Sam out,imo it needs stopping as it is not fair to the other housemates. So even if Crabby did win,I could never see him as a fair winner so the campaigns have not really done him any favours.

was that on the big brother section on twitter.
Not all of them are linked to BB,they are just given a number to ring for various items(note it says, the more you ring, the more the chance of winning)They post a housemates number(apparently Bens was the worst)and people ring hoping to win prizes.
Vicky.

can I ask how you think this only applies to john james?
I mean, surely these scams would work for anyone...so why just say if 'crabby' wins it wouldnt be fair?
I dont think JJ will win anyways, hopefully it will be sam :D

How can you say it's ridiculous?....When it's right there in Black and white!!

Because the week Ben was up against Crabby his fans started it,and it has carried on since for anyone up against or that is a threat to Crabby

In your opinion.
if these things are about, I find it hard to believe that it is only fans of ONE housemate who are pulling it.
It could for example, be corin fans doing it this time(not accusing anyone, using as an example) because sam is fave and she is second fave, makes sense doesnt it?

It was so obvious that there was skullduggery at work when His majesty Ben was ousted'!....Even if the Crabbyfannettes were enough to keep the twerp in.....There's no-way that Ben was disliked 52% over Rasputin Andrew and Crabby!!!!....No way!!!!And you would have to be 'off your rocker' to think that it was 'a real result'!!!! :nono:

If anyone sees any of these on Twitter, just report directly to them that this is a fraud and the twitter user can be traced, and prosecuted for FRAUD. It carries a £50,000 fine. I have reported 2 today, and irrespective of whichever HM they are trying to promote, it is cheating and fraud and needs to be reported every single time it is seen. Only when these idiots are prosecuted and have a criminal record will they understand that what they are doing is depriving innocent people of their money through these scams.

Do you not "get" that people are being tricked into ringing premium rate numbers? How would you feel if this happened to you?
It just proves to me that SOME fans have no moral compass at all, and like their idols, will do absolutely ANYTHING TO win, even if it is illegal and hurts someone else's pocket.
REPORT ALL SUCH SCAMS, ITS THE ONLY WAY TO TEACH THE FRAUDSTERS A LESSON THEY WON'T FORGET.

I guess I'm just annoyed that people are being ripped off and I'm not accusing any particular fans - if Ben fans had done it I would have been just as disgusted. It undermines the whole point of BB - that the HM who is most popular with the public and gets the most legitimate votes ends up the winner. I can accept even my most hated HM winning so long as it's fair and square.

The amount of votes that will have come from these scams is less than 1% it will barely effect the result.
Plus if there is a scam to evict one housemate there are other ones to evict others, they will balance each other out.
It's hardly worth worrying about.

I'm not defending the idiots doing this, but if that kid is stupid enough to blindly ring a number they see on Twitter then it's their own fault.
A Simple google search of the number would reveal what it really is.
Don't get me wrong these people doing it should be punished, but what I am saying is that the effect it has on the results is far less that what you are implying.

Except to the people who are losing money because they have been tricked into dialling a premium rate number? I cannot believe that people on this forum are condoning fraud. I just hope those people doing so are never victims of such scams.
See the above reply, and also the original post was not about the effect this has on the people ringing the numbers, but the effect it has on the result of the eviction.
Also I am reporting you to the mods for accusing me of "condoning fraud." Don't ever put words in to my mouth again.

That's cool. The point is you jumped right down my throat without even addressing what I had wrote. My original post was all about how in my opinion these scams have very little bearing on the overall result of the evictions. Nothing to do with the effect it has on people who fall for them.
However you quoted me and then went off on a rant about people being ripped off, which had nothing to do with what I had posted and then implied that I was 'condoning fraud.'
I welcome opposing views and disagreements and even being proved wrong. But I get pissed off with this forum sometimes when people start accusing you of things you have not even said, and have a go at you instead of debating properly.
Anyway let's leave it there shall we or we could end up going round in circles all night :spin:

I'm not bothered - I was actually referring to certain FMs on other threads who have been gloating at how brilliantly the scams worked. Having said that, I went back and re-read his post and my response and I noted that it stated that he didn't think it mattered in terms of numbers of votes, and yet all I pointed out was that it would matter to those who were out of pocket.

Fair enough. I enjoy a good debate and would just point out that I was actually referring to certain FMs who shall remain nameless who positively gloated on this forum about the scams after Ben was evicted. I realise you were talking in terms of the fact that the votes fraudulently obtained may be negligible, but I was referring to the money ripped off from naive people tricked into ringing these numbers. Just a misunderstanding I guess:spin:
