Just thought i'd make a thread on this great show lol.

I know it's finished but did anyone watch it? I LOVED it, probably cause i love boxing lol but i thought it was a great show.

Who else watched it ? Anyone know if theres gunna be anothe series?

I'm a big fan of the contender as you can proably tell from my avatar.There is meant to be another one but this time with Welterweights as opposed to Middleweights, it should be good anyway.

I check now and then to see how the fighters from the contender are getting on and even get to see a few matches.

Did anyone watch this last night?
The new series started last night at 9 on ITV4.
It was great and i'm definatly keeping up with it again this year, i was glad Michael went out, his cockyness pi$$ed me off.

oh my god, i first watched it last year the very first one one i'd just came back from a wedding and i thought it was well good and you know what i knew that it was gonna be on again the day the time and i only went and bloody missed it, i was well gutted, does any-one know if theres repeats

Yeah it should be repeated. Usually it's repeated on ITV later in the week but i'm sure it'll be repeated again on other ITV channels. :wink:

Good show last night and a real close fight.Torres has a bit to learn, he could have won the fight had he stepped away a bit more in that final round.I don't think Balletto will go much further because he looked quite slow at times and a smarter boxer will take advantage of that, he also throws too many big punches looking for that knockout blow but as Torres showed in the first and fourth if you step away he'll just end up missing and will get tired easily.

I LOVE THIS PROGRAMME OMG!!!!!!!! I was hooked ever since i was Alfonsos AWESOME fight last year...K9'S fight was a shocker hes a rubbish boxer realy but he has soo much strengh

Nah, K9 isn't a rubbish boxer. He isn't the best technical boxer and he does have a lot of strength but i was glad he beat Michael. :bouncy:

Yeah but out of the two Micheal had the most skill, K-9'S just really strong...no one in this one has come close to Alfonso though he was awesome! im addicted to the contender!

I am so glad Grady beat Vinroy after that headbutt, it was out of sheer desperation and could so easily have turned the fight into a win for Vinroy but Grady fought back really well.I think the cut's going to cause him quite a few problems in his next fight though.

Pretty lucky shot from Michael to beat Ebo, felt it was a bit unfair on Ebo after he won the first 3 rounds with ease but that's boxing for you, one good punch can turn the whole fight around.I think Stewart will go out next time.

First fight wasn't so great.Jeff just didn't look up for it in the first couple of rounds and it was too easy for Nick but at least he came back into and made it go down to the final round which was close but Nick just shaded it.

The 2nd fight was awesome, perhaps the best fight that I've seen on any of the contender shows.Freddy didn't look like a guy who had just come off a 4 year lay-off.I felt it was so close other than 2 rounds which were clear for Freddy and Steve.Shame to see Freddy go out at this stage as he seemed a nice guy and a better fighter than a few of the other guys in the top 8.Steve Forbes does look a strong fighter and I hope he goes onto the final.
