Can anyone actually think of any valid reason why we were not told yesterday about it being a quad today?
Why wait until the next day to tell us?
I'm genuinely curious.

A) They think it'll come as a bigger 'surprise' to us
B) It was a last-minute decision...there's been lots of them this year
C) It's all one big scam

Maybe they were debating between a triple or a quad eviction and they hadn't made the final decision.
Thats the only reason I can think of :/

They probably waited until the voting started and looked at who was going out, and the person they wanted out was probably 4th to go, so they go "Quadruple eviction".

A. I dont think so really...would they risk this sort of backlash just for a 'surprise'?
B. Likely...actually some people are saying that they were waiting on the outcome of the free pass before deciding...usually I would say that was bollocks, but now I'm not so sure.
C. Also quite plausible

It took them an extra day to decide if they should evict one more? Quite doubtful :S

Also something I would usually laugh at, but I'm starting to believe now :/

I'll give you my honest answer and this is probably what happened.
Phil Edgar Jones or whoever it was woke up this morning and thought 'God we need to get rid of this lot and fast'
So he calls the other producers and tells them of a Quad Eviction, they thought it was genius and didn't think how pissed off we would all be and then informed the online community by putting it on C4 so pleased with themselves that they finally done a 'Twist' this series, when actually about 95% of the Big Brother Community are very pissed off it's not a vote to save as we all know, so it backfired right in their faces and the only way something could be done is if we get ofcom involved, how can we do this?

I think Jonathan is 100% SPOT ON there. They probably seen Dave as 4th to 5th in the vote and they have been determined to get him out.
I think they also want Josie to win the fat cow she is!!

You see it's amazing how much negative response is coming from this. Had this been a Vote to Save, I'd have been really excited.
This is a BB first, afterall. And I've always wanted them to do a triple...so a quadruple is even better. But ONLY if it's a Vote to Save.
They've completely ruined what would've been an amazing quadruple eviction.
Seeing Steve, JJ, Mario and Andrew/Dave all called out one after the other would've been brilliant...and the housemates wouldn't expect it either.

Wow, talk about backfiring
I wonder if there are crisis meetings on now or something...or if they just dont actually care about this backlash :S

Obviously NO thought whatsoever went into the decision to have a single eviction on Friday, that would have left them 3 days to get the numbers down to a manageable size for Tuesday - but HOW? they could hardly have more phone voting they just got themselves in a godawful mess and came up with a godawful solution to get themselves out of it!

Well...they could have opened vote to win lines and done it the normal way.
Though, obviously they would have had to have some sort of disclaimer saying even if josie had the least votes(which is very unlikely anyway), she would not be leaving due to the free pass.
Could have got rid of 1/2 a night from friday. Sorted...

So why not announce that there would be multiple evictions, I'm fairly sure that Davina made it quite clear on air that it was a single eviction on Friday

There very well could be or will be it depends how many complaints they receive, I hope we hear how much they get or OfCom gets.
Does anyone know how to actually complain to OfCom?
I have to Channel 4 already.

Oh god how amazing would that of been :bawling:
This actually would of made me jump with excitment.
You can imagine it...
'The next person to be evicted from the Big Brother House IS... STEVE...JJ...ANDREW...MARIO!'
Like everytime she says a name we're all at home like 'GET IN THERE!' and throwing our fist in the air and the housemates are like crying and shocked.
But no it'll be different now :(
When is the eviction?
We all assumed Friday but I don't think they actually mentioned Friday but I imagine it is.

Yeah but Davina also didn't mention the Quad, Why?
Because the producers had no knowledge of the Quad until this morning when one of them thought it up while taking a sh*t or something.
But they could possibly have like 2 Evicted mid week and then 2 on Friday you know what I mean?
Probably unlikely but yeah.

It's definitely a rushed decision, remember that they told sam he would be banned from nominating this week so they obviously didn't plan on putting all the HMs up.

Probably to see where Sam is after the first few hours, if he was 4th then it would of only been a triple eviction but as he is probably 5th they are doing a quad.

The reason why it isn't vote to save is because the producers don't want to come across as thieving bastard by making you vote to save and then vote to win.
Basically the Joise being safe twist has ****ed them up because the were probably planing on doing a vote to win from yesterday.

From Wikipedia:
History
Endemol was founded in 1994 by a merger of television production companies owned by Joop van den Ende and John de Mol, the name deriving from the combination of their surnames. One notable success has been the Big Brother "reality television" show, with versions in many countries after the initial Dutch version. However the most profitable programme for Endemol is Deal or No Deal which has now been sold to over 100 countries. They specialise in inexpensive programming that is appealing to television executives in the modern multi-channel world, and other Endemol programmes in this vein include Changing Rooms, Ready Steady Cook, Ground Force, International King of Sports, Space Cadets, Fear Factor and Wipeout.
In 2000, the company was sold to the Spanish telecom and media corporation Telefónica for € 5.5 billion. In November 2005, 25% of Endemol was taken public, and is since then listed on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange under the stock symbol EML. On May 14, 2007 the remaining 75% of Endemol shares has been bought by a consortium, Edam Acquisition, led by Mediaset, the company owned by Silvio Berlusconi's family, and including the investment company Cyrte, whose vast majority of shares is owned by the original co-founder John de Mol.[1] The consortium announced on August 6, 2007, that it now owned 99.54% of Endemol shares, after an offer to buy the remaining shares went through on August 3, 2007; it asked the Euronext bourse for a delisting of Endemo

Which simply states that Endemol exists as a company, its owned by one of its founders.
It still produces Big Brother through one of its production subsidiaries, Remarkable Television.

Yeah, where did that come from...and they surely couldnt be stupid enough to forget to tell the presenter to announce that it is a quadruple eviction...
Ok let me try to explain. C4 have a production meeting months before the show even starts to plan tasks and discuss how the show is to unfold i.e. when and what happens on any particular date. Everything is cleared with Endemol who are the actual production company.
They have to do this so that everything runs as smoothly as possible, all the props have to be made for the various tasks so they are ready for when they are required. The house has to be adapted with the correct fixtures and fittings for the tasks i.e. The Tree of Temptation and Davina Macaw for example.
Any show that is required to run overtime such as for special events or evictions are planned way in advance so that C4 can plan their programme schedules and taylor them accordingly. In otherwords the whole show is pre-programmed even before it starts, it wouldn't have been an instant decision to have a 4 way eviction this week, it would have been decided at the various production meetings throughout the show.
As the show progresses Endemol release press releases so that newspapers are forewarned of what to expect. These press releases are required to be kept as secret as possible but they very rarely are. Once a press release is issued it's usually common knowledge within a few hours and is leaked to various Big Brother websites via forums etc.
Endemol are fully aware that's once a press release is issued, it's usually common knowledge within a few hours and therefore have to come clean and announce it officially.
That's what happened this week, a press release was issued saying there would be a mass cull of housemates next Friday, and although it was leaked to people in the know, it wasn't made common knowledge until today as Endemol wanted to keep it a secret as long as possible. However once things are out in the open, they then announce it officialy so that websites and forums etc don't steal their thunder, hence no announcement last night but officially announced today. If they could have kept it secret a bit longer then they almost certainly would have done.
Phew... does that explain it or are you  ? :D
