It seems to me that channel4 has tried to kill big brother off this year.
They have thrown the rules away and basically turned it into some hotel inviting every tom dick and harry into the house.
They leave a great housemate out the house like sam and put dullards in by the truck load.
Now with this stupid vote to evict they have basically put the nail in the coffin...maybe sam has livened it up too much and they don't want anyone to take josies title off her...they have already sent the bloody money into her account.
This year has proved to me big brother is 100% fixed and scripted.
Lets face it...do you believe the guy who is in charge??
Maybe ask him in 10 years if it was fixed :nono:

I don't find Sam that interesting but I want to agree with you in principle and Sam is part of the example:
- A few seasons ago BB would have let the HM's pick 3 out of 6. Then knowing that they would pick the most 'likable unthreatening' BB would turn it around and PUT IN THE ONES THEY DID NOT PICK

In this example we know that Laura was a total fail and JJ2 may as well never showed up at all. Ghostman.
In fact, Fat Sexy Black would have been PERFECT for BB11.
Sam from the beginning too.

The fact they kept that Shabby crap going made me believe they were.. how can I put it.. in some kind of contempt they were shltting on their own carpet. Actually shltting on the BB house carpet,
and,
via television shltting on our living room carpets.

Anyways,
I have really enjoyed BB11 but yes I agree there was one outstanding problem this year when two different ideas were both working against each other and its this:
1. Choosing more HMs who are the quality and type who need to develop over a season (or longer times).
2. At the same time trying to have a BB10 style 'Summer Wacky Rotation Pool Party' going on with various 'love matches' and others coming and going in and out.

Anyways - I do see what your saying and although I'm overall happy with BB11 yes.. you make some good points.

Also.. this is the last season of BB. They don't need to try and kill it. I think they already moved onto Ultimate BB now.
Which will be their 'last hurrah' and what C4 people are remembered for and want on their CVs.

ElProximo i agree with you it has been a ok year...but it could of been the icing on the cake of a great tv program. They have left great footage on the edit room floor and showed us duvee action.
It was the shabby and caoimhe love show
Then the ben and mario love show
then josie and john james mega epic bore off show
It just seems a bloody shame to go out with a pop rather then a bang.
But like you said it seems they have given up on this year and just want to get on with the Ultimate end

I think from the start it was a toss up between Shabby & Sam. And obviously they chose Shabby. Sam probably would have been higher risk than Shabby, and likely been first evicted, that's what i believe they would have been thinking, anyways. AT BEST...i think if Sam was an original he may have lasted the first month, - hence, he was slated in as a possible "new housemate". Where i think they screwed up, is they probably should have put him in instead of Andrew. Even still, he may not have lasted more than a couple of weeks. The thing is, they got 3 weeks out of him, and to be honest, that's probably about as much as they could expect...

Well said and I agree that there is something of a 'senseless tragedy' where this season had every potential to become one of the best of the best. A top 3 season.
At the very least have let them 'go out on top' as you rightly said.

Yep, its like the casting directors and some pre-production people set them up for a 'classic season' and they passed a perfect ball
but,
at some point whoever took over from there went straight for making it as BB10 as possible and forcing it.. crushing it into a 'summer kiss party' crapfest and if this meant desperately moving as many people in and out hoping to get some 'hits' to lead to 'love triangle' stories for the teens.

Anyways.. yeah its too bad what had every potential for a brilliant season was kind of.. dumbed down.

It's funny how they seem SO obsessed with LOVE story lines, yet...appeared to make a real hash of putting in compatible or "legitimate singles". I'm surprised they don't put ALL singles into the house (triple checked and verified). :conf:

PS. i think John James actually mentioned it in the house, but during one of the Aussie Seasons, on the first night - when it become apparent that a few of HMs lied about being "single", BB automatically kicked them all out, and replaced them with genuine singles.
