Another Reason Why Dave is a Liar

On LF the other night, and to Ben a few weeks back, Dave said that he knew Rachel Rice personally, and that he had met her. Naturally, Rachel has no recolection of ever meeting or coming across Dave, and therefore he has created yet another farce thinking it may further him in the game; it's repulsive.

His stories go on to change, as a few nights ago on LF he said that 'this year's BB has good housemates unlike Rachel Rice from BB9'. So not only has he lied about meeting her, but he has also slagged off someone who was a far better person than he can ever even imagine being.

The house went on to have more discussions about Rachel Rice, with JJ saying that you didn't have to be entertaining to win BB, and gave Rachel Rice as an example to this statement. Dave added that she was very boring.

I understand your point. However, Dave stated that he personally knows Rachel, and not that they have simply met once. Therefore, at least some parts of his tale can be confirmed as a lie, as Rachel doesn't even remember having ever spoken to him, let alone personally knowing him.

It is entirely possible and even 'likely' that someone would remember meeting Rachel Rice (especially after her win),
yet,
she would not remember meeting them (especially after her win when thousands introduce themselves at every public turn).

The next problem you have is that it 'could' be that Rachel Rice is the one who is lying.

The next problem is your *therefore* because I don't think most people on Earth can see David thinking such a story would 'further him in the game'.

The fire in my belly for Dave has started to dwindle since his tactics have sunk to the level of divide and conquer instead of being himself but the OP is clearly confused about the point they are trying to make here. The two examples are unrelated and at best point to the fact that he has name dropped someone he may have met briefly. I dont know if this conversation is going right over your head, but as you stated Another reason, you havent provided any sort of reason, backed up with facts he did in fact lie about knowing her.

My binmen empty my bins weekly, I leave them a generous tip every christmas, if one of them told a mutual friend friend he knows me, he would be telling the truth. If that mutual friend then said to me "you know Barry binns" I would say "no i dont I dont recognise the name". Doesnt mean either of us is lying does it?

Let's look at this 'surprise mention of something' and see if there is a real problem.

A year later David meets Rachel in a pub or Tesco's or somewhere.
OK.
So far so good yes?
David remembers meeting her. She is the winner of BB9 and famous.
OK. makes sense yes? Okay good.
Rachel does not remember meeting David. He was not famous. She has thousands of people meet her in after her win.
OK. Easy. Happens all the time in life.

Now a year later David is actually IN Big Brother himself!
OK.
Now people are funny. When they are in Big Brother and having conversations with people in Big Brother they may find themselves discussing.. Big Brother things!
They also may do something we call 'comparing'. They compare their season to previous seasons.
This is strange but true and happens to nearly everyone.

At some point in a conversation David offers his opinion that his season's people are 'more exciting than Rachel Rice'.
No problem.
It's true this was his opinion and 'perception' of the people.

I read through all of that. However, what I was saying was that David said he personally knew Rachel. Maybe he was using the wrong term, but to me, 'personally' means genuinely having had a meaningful conversation with that person and knowing a little bit (at least) about each other. It really depends on how you want to perceive what Dave has said. Clearly, you see it as just having 'met Rachel once', whilst I see it as 'had gotten to know Rachel on a personal level'. :thumbs:
