I am sure we discussed this at length on here yesterday.
The whole subject of Dave going lamping.
Believe it is not only legal but much needed in parts of the country. Rabbit culls are very common.

I eat meat and so I would be willing to hunt and clean my own, or I feel that I would be a hypocrite.

Hunting isnt morally wrong, and tbh it is actually more 'right' then buying clean plastic packaged meat off the supermarket.

At least the hunter is taking responsibility for the food he is eating.

And I say this, as most people are aware, as being pretty anti-Dave and his shady little cult.

Hunting foxes and rabbits IS conservation. Rabbit population increases faster than the prdator population can keep up and there aren't many species that will predate rabbits in the first place as they are an introduced species, albeit a long time ago.

Foxes are an apex predator with an abundance of food. If not controlled the population would explode, prey species would be wiped out, UK wildlife would be massively affected and then foxes would eventually die out.

The only thing keeping the balance is people controlling the population not decimating it.

I'm sure to a lot of people it is and I am well aware of the many acts that farmers have to abide by telling them to clear their land of what are termed as vermin. Personally I am against it all I don't eat meat and I don't kill anything - that's just me I'm afraid and people who hunt these animals for fun and sport make me feel ill. I know it happens but that doesn't mean I have to agree with it. I'm sure if all wildlife was left alone a natural balance would prevail without man jumping in to do his act of god bit.

Another vegan, then?

You should have a look what foxes do to lambs, chickens, geese and other livestock. They don't just take them as food, some they just kill because they can. Their numbers need to be controlled, the most humane way to do it is by shooting them.

I'm sure if all wildlife was left alone a natural balance would prevail without man jumping in to do his act of god bit.

Unfortunately, it wouldn't. Agriculture (of any sort) is reliant on creating a false equilibrium, this means that even the staunchest vegan is invloved to some dgree in pest control as the crops they consume could not exist without it. I understand that this involvement is implicit but it still exists.

Then there is also the pest control that seeks to encourage indigenous wildlife by controlling introduced species such as rabbit, mink, grey squirrel, carp, rainbow trout etc.

I don't agree with killing for fun - just like Sir Peter Scott whom in his youth shot thousands of geese until he realised that live creatures are a far greater source of enjoyment for a far greater number of people than the one that does the killing.

That's why he set up the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust.

I don't agree with killing animals and I could never kill an animal myself, but unfortunately it's something that has to be done. I'm not talking about hunting for fun, I'm talking about protecting livestock and stopping crops being ruined. It'd be nice to say let all the bright and beautiful fluffy animals live and thrive and multiply... but it would not be possible if we want to produce food. Of course we could allow out countryside to be overrun, then import all our food from abroad, where animal welfare could be MUCH further down the list of priorities than it is here.

Nah just stating a fact. When rabbit populations get too large, diseases run riot through populations, similarly during harsh winters cannibalism is often seen.

Peter Plunker

Foot shot Yet again!

In what way? Oh is it because I said that foxes are an apex predator yet there are way too many rabbits? Well, for a start foxes seldom predate rabbits, any population that exceeds the numbers that it's natural equilibrium can support will either need outside control or it will die out de to lack of food and disease, thereby ruining biodiversity.

So no, no shot foot here. You probably shouldn't discuss things you don't know about, which judging by your posts on here leaves with precious few options.

Dave on live feed said he loved to shoot rabbits. What sort of Christian is he?

What are you talking about, what sort of Christian is he?

How much further is this ridiculous and hysterical hounding of Dave going on, I wonder?

A rabbit shooting one, does it say in the bible not to shoot rabbits?

Wasnt in the ten commandments that I was taught.

There are lots of good reasons to slate him for unchristianlike behaviour but predating vermin isnt really one of them.

Dont let hate blind you!

Leviticus 14:3 - do not kill rabbits, they are God's creatures.:nono:

Now that is typical of you to take things out of context to prove your point. You missed out:

Leviticus 14:4-6 - But if ye do have to cull them, verily I say unto thee lamping with a high powered rifle, from 300 cubits(cubit = 0.5 yards) is okay.

Leviticus 20:27 "A man also or a woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones; their blood shall be upon them."

He should lay off the woodland creatures and go for Potter.

Again you have missed the qualifier.

Unless ye take them out with a clean head shot, or use magnum rounds and rip them apart.

... You probably shouldn't discuss things you don't know about, which judging by your posts on here leaves with precious few options.

And yet you still preach christianity, which you (& your master Dave) clearly know nothing about... :xyxwave:

The rules do apply to everyone, if a member insults you or you see someone else being insulted use the report button.

If thats what you want to think then fair enough, but if any infractions/bans were handed out unfairly they would be reversed by admin.

This thread is not a discussion about mods though so keep on topic in here.

I was always told ,anyone who hasn't got love for animals, has no love for humans, and on the whole that is right, how anyone can get a thrill from killing for fun has a serious brain disorder, imo and I would not give them the time of day.Dave, has quite sickened me with some of his comments.
