is celebrity culture damaging britain

as a big brother fan, this is tricky,

because i can see both sides and i am not taking the mickey.

i do find the fame seeking side sickening,

but in this day and age with kiss and tell, its only ever thickening.

reality shows are a hit as with human behaviour we are fascinated,

but when you have big buck prizes, its now all calculated.

its people going in with on there brain fame,

the producers have to take responsibility but ultimately the viewers are to blame.

if the prise money was lowered along with the magazine deals,

we just might get real people and not fake peels.

yes celebrity culture is damaging this kingdom that is united,

but the press and the manipulative show producers are the ones i who also should be uninvited.

(good afternoon everyone. i was watching a debate show this morning and they asked if big brother and shows like this were damageing this country. i am sure you all no i am a massive bb fan but i do feel they are damageing us. this could be corrected by less minipulative showings and take out the massive prise money and all the mag deals the HM get after the show. just a few thoughts or should i stop moaning lol )

is anyone else as excited as the joe on tuesdays goings on ? can not wait for ultimate bb < bring it on.

Reality TV has destroyed TV culture thats for sure.

Youngsters now want to be famous for nothing. They dont aspire to be worthy, productive members of society anymore. To be educated and skilled.

They just want easy money and adoration.

So yeah, BB has certainly contributed to the downfall in our culture. These people just sit in a fooking house for 3 months. Then get idolised! Not by me though. Although Ive loved certain past HMs I don't worship them or make any effort to follow them after they leave the house. TBH they can all fall down a black hole soon as they exit the house as far as Im concerned!

i am like that to zippy < i love the show but i dont think nothing more or less of the people in it just for being on a show.

Yeah, because TV and celebrity culture were so pristine before Big Brother came around  Reality show hate is so cliche.

I dont think it's damaging Britain. I think it highlights everything that is already wrong with the country.

dirtyvileHARRYuk, it's great you're using this forum as a medium for getting your 'poetry' out there, but is it really too much to ask that you write coherent clauses? Reading stuff like this drives me mad...
