Hey
A petition has been started about Big Brother's portrayal of Mario. I find it quite disgusting how they have treated him, and the way they have manipulated the footage to Only show "perving mario".
Please sign if you are in agreement.

"To: Ofcom, Channel 4, Press, Viewers
To whom it may concern.
As long time Big Brother viewers, we are seriously concerned at the portrayal of one of this years housemates : Mario Mugan.
As all of us who have watched Live Feed have seen, he is a genuine, kind, and decent young man, and yet Big Brother, in the Highlight shows, and also the sister shows, Big Brothers Big Mouth and Big Brothers Little Brother, have continually portrayed him as some sort of perverted stalker.
The editing of Mario has been shocking and the predjudice on the sister shows disgraceful. It is completely different from live feed and shows none of his good moments or qualities.
We believe this is really unfair and biased, and that Big Brother, Endemol and Channel 4 have failed its responsibility as a broadcaster not to distort footage or mislead viewers. Mario is also likely to be very distressed once he realises how he has been consistently inaccurately but purposefully portrayed. We are complaining for Ofcom to investigate.
Big Brother's producer PEJ has stated that he sees Big Brother as a Soap Opera, and consequently edited it with this in mind.
Mario's assigned role was as the predatory gay man, and boring. The fact that he is nothing like this was ignored, his teasing made to look like sexual harassment and that it was usually other housemates who made the first advances twisted. Hardly any other footage of Mario is shown outside of this context, such as his thoughtful or 'deeper' sides. This inaccurate representation is playing on viewer's prejudices and potentially even promoting homophobia.
None of this would matter were this really a Soap Opera, but it isn't. This is real life, and Mario is a real hunam being, with feelings, who can be very hurt by this unfair character assassination.
Please sign this petition to show your dislike at Big Brothers unfair edit of house-mate Mario.

Breaches of the Ofcom Broadcasting Code:
2.2 Factual programmes or items or portrayals of factual matters must not materially mislead the audience.
2.3 – Broadcasters must when applying generally accepted standards ensure that material which may cause offence is justified by the context.
2.14 is interesting too: Broadcasters must ensure viewers and listeners are not materially misled about any broadcast or competition.
7.1 Broadcasters must avoid unjust or unfair treatment of individuals or
organisations in programmes.
7.8 Broadcasters should ensure that the re-use of material, i.e. use of material originally filmed or recorded for one purpose and then used in a programme for another purpose or used in a later or different programme, does not create unfairness. This applies both to material obtained from others and the broadcaster’s own material.
7.9 Before broadcasting a factual programme, including programmes examining past events, broadcasters should take reasonable care to satisfy themselves that:
• material facts have not been presented, disregarded or omitted in a way that is unfair to an individual or organisation;
7.10 Programmes – such as dramas and factually-based dramas – should not
portray facts, events, individuals or organisations in a way which is unfair to an individual or organisation.

It will go nowhere and barely be read,
but,
There is a way in which I agree (in principle) with the OP and this is actually a serious problem on television 'reality shows',
and,
In day to day life.
The 'creepy' accusation.
Somehow it became acceptable for teenage girls to accuse anyone of being creepy.
Not just teenage girls but grown women do it too.
Editors have been getting more bold with it on Reality shows yes.
Here is the problem though:
- As soon as you start using or pushing the words and terms 'Creepy' or 'Perverted' you are dangerously close (if not over) the line of accusing someone of an actual criminal act.
- This kind of accusation can have very serious social consequences which can seriously affect a persons ability to earn a living, destroy their reputation, make them at risk for violence or even risk losing their children and marriages.
- When you have these 'seemingly criminal' accusations and they are NOT actually investigated it may be the WORST thing for the accused never gets to defend themselves or be exonerated.
One thing I would encourage Mario (if he felt it was appropriate) but also anyone else accused of these things to do is consider hiring a Lawyer and look at things like libel and defamation of character.
EVEN if this includes teenagers (in which case the parents are contacted).
If you think I'm exaggerating this then don't - I have been in meetings with law enforcement people where this very problem is the focus and ways to deal with it were discussed.
In one example given some teenage girls decided they disliked an adult male employee but began 'campaigning' gossip where he went from disliked to 'creepy' and 'pervert'.
Within a short time managers heard rumours of this 'creepy guy' and the accusers introduced a running joke of him being a 'paedo' and how 'child molester jokes' soon went around.
A week later people not familiar with the original premise simply understood a 'child molester' worked there.
At some point a parent got the idea this 'creepy molester' was threatening his teenage daughter and was going to go viciously assault him,
but,
the police eventually got involved. After spending a lot of their time and money it was quite obvious there was nothing.
The girls DID have a list of stories that amounted to some off-colour sexual innuendo, him looking at breast areas and 'he looked creepy'.
Unfortunately, by that time the man was already ruined, his girlfriend left, he eventually lost that job,
and,
we found out later when he applied at another restaurant the manager there had not hired him as she had 'heard he was in some kind of trouble with police over child molesting'.
Anyways, all of this just going back to the OP and suggestions that IF Mario does feel that some kind of 'pathological' or even 'criminal' misrepresentation was implied or insinuated I actually DO encourage him to look into some kind of legal reps and consider penalizing and vilifying the false accusers.
Oh.. you know one other thing that came up in my city was that a women did accuse someone of rape here and it was discovered to be untrue. She eventually admitted making up the story,
but,
in fact, police here did arrest her (proper jail too) and she was charged and found guilty and ended up with 2 years!
So maybe police are starting to move in the right directions now.

Is Mario the pervy one?
Yeah, you can tell him apart by the mewing noises.
Oh, and the fact that he has his cock out. Again.
Seriously though, this line got me from the OP.... "We believe this is really unfair and biased, and that Big Brother, Endemol and Channel 4 have failed its responsibility as a broadcaster not to distort footage or mislead viewers."
I mean really? Is this the first year they have watched the show?

I find his behaviour much more offensive to watch than anything John James did or said - Mario actually makes me feel sick when he starts perving - he couldnt cope when the bigger characters were in the house now there are only 5 he seems to think he has the limelight b ut he is repulsing me big time.

that is a really good post and very interesting. The hysterical vigilantism against men who could be perceived as being some sort of threat to women or children is used as an attack on anyone who is different. Binge drinking chavs especially can get very insecure if you're not reinforcing their behavior constantly...(I was told i was "weird" because i wasn't interested in the world cup). Men who are single, middle aged and perceived as socially awkward are especially vulnerable to this type of judgement. It seems a growing number of women, teenage girls and also males when it suits them find pleasure in labeling people as creeps or peados. I'm glad that woman got jailed for rape accusation.

If he wasn't continuously walking around nekid and making sexual references to almost anything thats said he'd never be portrayed as a pervert. He really is annoying when he does that he just comes across as a one trick pony. Nothing to say unless its something smutty.
Fair enough he might have said and done other things but according to other hms he has done nothing rememorable that they can remember and all I can think of him doing in there is the MOLE.

Of all the outrageous crap going on in the world, you've taking this up as a cause?
Mario is in the final five, so really, the portrayal of him can't have been that bad, can it. Ofcom are going to laugh your message right back at you. I can hardly believe there are 104 people in the world who think that this cause is is worth their "signature" on a petition.

If he wasn't continuously walking around nekid and making sexual references to almost anything thats said he'd never be portrayed as a pervert.
What exactly do you call constantly?
Let's just count 75 Days (-final -launch night) of BB...
That would be 1800 Hours, so from that time, he maybe spend undressed 2 hours in total.
So are you serious about, that 2 hours out of 1800 fit the description continuously?
The problem is exactly that, that BB put that little amount of time in the spotlight to describe him as a person, which is just wrong.
Also, he may have had a crush on Ben, but he never stalked him or pestered him, same with Andrew. Andrew is the one who was searing close contact to Mario all the time.
There are a lot of really sick and pervert people in this world (child abusers etc)
Calling Mario a Pervert is an insult which he doesn't deserve at all.

Mario is his own worst enemy.
He is a miserable moaner, tries to get attention by aggravating others, talking to inanimate objects, whimpering and sulking.
He does come across as a lewd letch at times but then he does not help himself when he brags about being one of the top "trophy" boys.
