Phone voting during Celebrity Big Brother raised almost half a million for various charities, Channel 4 has confirmed.

A total of 3 million votes were cast over the course of the 23 days, with 32% of all revenues going to good causes.

Approximately £480,000 will now be divided equally amongst the housemates' chosen charities, regardless of where they finished in the competition.

Meanwhile, Chantelle triumphed last night with 56.4% of votes in the final vote reading, versus Michael's 43.6%.

At the time of the earlier vote readings, Maggot had 23.5% to finish third, Preston had 16.7% to finish fourth, Pete had 13.6% to finish fifth and Traci had 5.3% to finish sixth.

Interesting figures - Malibu Traci was an airhead, but essentially harmless, yet Pete received more than twice as many votes. And he wasn't too far behind Preston, who brought little more than cheekbones to the house.

I think that is brilliant that all that money will go to charity. I'm glad i voted now!

I had never voted on BB brother before this year.

When one of the house mates was kicking off at Chantelle and Preston for passing the task and getting £6 for food for each house mate i was so mad! So i couldn't help but pick up the phone and vote them out!
