I think that Big Brother had it sticthed up from the start, religious people like Dave are always slated by the Big Brother audience only for their views on religion and nothing else.
Dave has constantly been up for eviction many times, big brother knows that religious monks like Dave should be hated by the audience, they've put him up for eviction twice and when he accused them of trying to get him out, they laughed it off and put it into the task as a joke.
Dave would be the saviour of a dead series but he will be stitched up one final time by BB when Josie undeservingly wins.
She has none of the qualitys that Dave has in his personality.

I was thinking ever since he made it to the final that he had been up for eviction a lot, especially in the first weeks and then he makes it to the final when he could've been out of the house early on in the show. I do like him though, I'm glad he wasn't evicted in the first few weeks.

The producers didn't want Mario evicted then, that's why they made it clear that the person who they picked could be evicted. Mario was popular in the house at that time so they would not have picked him. If they had not given the HMs that information then they might have picked Mario. Sunshine of course had no idea what the implications of identifying the mole might be until it was revealed at the end. She even offered to become the mole in the DR as she felt sorry for Mario and the role he had to take.
