Sharon Osbourne will reportedly return to The X Factor to help Louis Walsh at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition.

Osbourne quit the programme's panel two years ago but The Sun claims that she has been drafted in by Walsh to help choose his finalists for the live shows.

"Sharon knows she's only back briefly and is determined to stir things up and make mischief," said a friend of Walsh. "She wants to have fun and make her mark on this year's show.

"Louis is absolutely delighted that Sharon is coming back. They are great pals off screen and work well together. She is a great character with big opinions on everything and he has dearly missed having her around.

"But Sharon is also a very good mentor who will help Louis to choose his finalists and offer them great advice."

The source claimed that Walsh had to check with Simon Cowell if Osbourne could return for the his Judges' Houses stage, which will film at a property in Shannon, Ireland.

"Louis had to clear her return with Simon Cowell who is pleased because he knows she will be good for ratings," they said.

The contestants who successfully made it through Boot Camp will apparently find out tomorrow who their mentor is, before beginning to film the next stage of the competition.

The insider added: "They will get a shock when they realise Sharon is back."

I loved Sharon on the show, It was a shame she quit :(

She'd be much better than Dannii. Ive never seen the point of Cheryl and Dannii together. Just too similar and they never seem to go against each other. Scared of fuelling the rivalry speculation by the press.

I agree with that, last year proved that when she got rid of Jedward, the others are too far up each others asses.

I find it stupidly unfair that she's always the favorite judge for the axe

Agreed.

Shes the only one who seems to want to find a talent and is the only one who gives good and bad criticism to the acts.

Cheryl and Louis say the same old "you made that song your own" crap :sleep:

and simon jsut cares about money and ratings.

Huge mistake to even bring her back for a second.

Sharon was and is a vindictive bully. He rant on the winners show to Steve Brookstein was unforgivable. Her rant about Danni on the Graham Norton show was worse. Just look them up on YouTube.

But aprt from that her judging skills were pitiful on The X Factor. She really had no interest in the contestants, just wanted a winning category (which she never had).

Dannii is the judge everyone in the competition wants. She caring and nurturing. Her judging comments are nearly always spot on and she's a really nice person.

She's not done a thing on British TV after the X Factor and to even get a toe in the door is a big mistake.
