What are the average audience ratings compared to the last 4 or 5 seasons? Anyone know? Has this series gone up or down compared to the last few?

So what your saying is that about 3.4million ish watched the BB11 final.

The marathon three-hour show started modestly, with 3.2m (14.4%) tuning in at 8pm, but it passed the 4m barrier at 9pm, according to overnight Barb figures supplied by Attentional.

It kept building its audience from there, with 4.3m (18.6%) watching the crowning – and subsequent re-entry – of the 11th and final series winner Josie Gibson.

It managed two five-minute peaks of 5.1m and the final hour, given over to the return of former housemates battling to become the Ultimate Big Brother contestant, built to a 15-minute peak of 4.6m (24.4%) in is closing stages just before 11pm.

A further 146,700 (0.8%) watched on C4+1.

It performed better than last year’s final, which mustered an overnight figure of 2.9m and a total consolidated audience of 3.4m viewers, and was roughly in line with the 2008 final’s audience of 4.2m.

This year’s series consistently pulled in an average total audience of 2.8m (13.9%) for its peaktime editions, which the majority keeping well above 2m. This is just slightly up on last year’s average of 2.6m (12.9%

Its well exceeded expectations :)

Glad that the BB11 part of the show did really well :D

But BB10 actually averaged 2.5million and this years will at the end when all the officials are released will be 2.9million so even better :D

BB9 averaged 3.2 apparently not that much up on this years average

And the bb9 final peaked at 5.1million so bb11 has matched that.

BB9 averaged 3.6million

whatever the ratings for the BB11 final - watch the viewing figures plummet now they've put that shower of ****e in the house with Josie......is that REALLY the best they could come up with? Only Brian Dowling worth watching!

Nadia, Brian ,Nikki and chantelle and preston have all had the nation gripped in past series so dont speak to soon. I think alot of old skool viewers may return

So why are they axing it??? :conf:

The ratings were that high because they were axing it.
Explanation:

- They saw ratings declining and I think this may have started around BB8. Declined more BB9 (despite an excellent effort),
and,
then really took a dive during BB10.

Had BB11 been yet another series the trend says it 'would' have declined even further,
but,
The huge draw was the fact it was the last chance to see BB. You may have 2 million 'regular viewers anyways',
but,
now add a good 2 million who would be arsed to take it in - if for no other reason than sentimental reasons or one last good-bye.
(or even a few who watched HAPPY to finally see it go).

Now the huge difference on top of that is UBB. Its something like combining a BB Final AND a CBB Launch Night.
You might even argue that MOST viewers were making tea during the final waiting for UBB to start?

So I suppose many a BB analyst and ratings expert will say this really confirms everything they suspected - the ratings 'would' keep declining IF they had kept up business as usual.

*One thing I don't know is how the voting income is working out. That might tell us a whole lot more about why it's time to end BB.

**Yes, in fact even at its own lowest ratings - BB is still getting number most programs could only dream about hehe.
It just seems C4 is convinced they can do even better given the same talent, producers, time slots etc.

They are pretty good ratings, nearly half a million for Big Mouth too, nice

So why are they axing it??? :conf:

The 4.1 million figure is due to the UBB lot going in.....the final itself was a pathetic letdown. Figures for this series are slightly up on last year, but way way down on previous years. BB5 got 9.3 MILLION for the final. They are axing it because C4 think it has run its course. Sadly, so do I.

4 mil for a final isn't good :joker:

Sure, it's better than BB10's, but for the final of a popular reality show that's a pretty poor number.

4.2 Watched when Josie was crowned the winner actually and 5.1 saw the launch of Ubb.

Wish you would read through the post then you would gather the correct information.

Again...read through the post. The final peaked at 5.1 million and matched the bb9 final.

And i honestly dont know why people laugh at a show they are supposed to be fans of when they think its failing.

Strange people

Snukey can u change the title of the thread so people can actually see it was watched by alot higher. Cheers

It peaked at 5.1 mil... it didn't average 5.1 mil. Not good enough.

So it started with 3.2m at 8pm then at 9pm it grew to 4m then the crowning of Josie and re-entry was seen by 4.2m which would of been at 9.45pm-10pm.

Oh god did you actually expect it to get 9 million like the old days? lol

The fact is the final matched BB9's final averaging 4.1 and peaking at 5.1 and has beat bb10,s peak by 2 MILLION!

How can you not be impressed by that?

It even beat cbb7 which everyone raved on about doing so well

Cbb7 finale pulled in an average of 3.9 million

It peaked at 4.2 million

Big brother 11 pulled in an average of 4.1 million

And peaked at 5.1 million
