I was thinking the same.
He tried to influence nominations by writing down names then showing them to the other housemates.

Didn't he lie that he had a wife and that she died in a car crash?

He went around to every housemate telling them how great they were then went into the diary room and nominated them.
He also talked in code to housemates to influence them to nominate each other.
And wrote down names to show the other housemates lol
I remember how big it was when he got chucked out he was ****ing hated!

I think he also lied about someone dieing of cancer too? If I remember correctly. Also yeah he said his ex-fiancee was killed in a car crash abroad somewhere too, all to gain sympathy and closeness from the others who he'd then show the names to.
He wasn't "nasty" in himself but his tactics were.
You have to realise BB1 was a very different animal to the rest of the BB's. What he did is tame by today's standards, but shocking at the time.
I think he bigged himself up as some kind of commando too, but he couldn't even do the assault course in the garden.
Cringe? He invented the concept.

He told the HMs he got married when he was 19 and his wife died in a car crash, he lied, he told them he had been in the TA, he lied. He tried to influence others votes by writing names of HMs down and showing others individually and was eventually ejected by BB for doing this. back in the days when a rule break like this resulted in actual punishments!
