BB EXCLUSIVE 1 Preston pops question to his lover Camille

CELEBRITY Big Brother's Preston yesterday got engaged to girlfriend Camille Aznar and plans to get hitched as soon as possible.

A source close to the Ordinary Boys singer, 24, told The Mirror he went down on one knee to end speculation over his relationship with 22-year-old BB winner Chantelle Houghton.

The friend said: "Preston had no idea what kind of furore his appearance on the show would create and he was naive as to how much his flirting with Chantelle would upset Camille.

"He was totally loved-up with her before he went in the house and was taken by surprise by his feelings for Chantelle.

"Now he's out he realises his feelings were intensified by the environment he was in and he just wants to get back to normality."

After popping the question, Preston took Camille, 25, to a lingerie party thrown by upmarket brand Myla at Porchester Hall, West London. The night before, speculation the couple had split mounted when Preston arrived at the BB end-of-series party without Camille.

But a source reveals: "He didn't take her as he wanted to avoid friction between her and Chantelle. He'd already decided to propose. He wanted to prove to Camille that she's the one.

"She's reeling over events of the past days. The proposal took her by surprise, but she didn't hesitate in saying yes, especially when he said he didn't want a long engagement. She just wants to forget Chantelle ever existed."

Chantelle recently denied having feelings for Preston, adding: "I'd love to be a bridesmaid at his wedding to Camille." One of his mates said: "Preston is going to help Chantelle with her record career and they will remain friends."

Preston's spokesman declined to comment. Yesterday the singer laughed and held hands with Camille as he visited tailors in Brighton.

An onlooker said: "They looked very happy. They couldn't keep their hands off each other."

I don't know if this is true or not but If it is I hope he'll be happy:sad::sad:
I think what he's been through would either make or break his relationship.
If she's stuck by him she must really love him and so I suppose that would make him realise what he's got with her.
I would have loved to see him with Chantelle but even if they don't end up together they will always be good friends I'm sure.

If the story is true, I do hope Preston has done it for the right reasons and not just because he feels guilty. After all if he could have feelings, as he admits he had for Chantelle in the house, then perhaps there is something missing from his relationship. Marry in haste, repent at leisure might apply here.

I think it a huge shame that they have got engaged just to silence the critics and the media. They should have waited in my opinion. If it is true then camille is a fool.

I agree Glittereyes, they should have waited to see if they can truly move on from this, rather than let the media machine push them into hasty decisions.

Personally if I were Camille I would have said not on your life mate!

She will have to wait a year after they are married before she can get her divorce, and after a short marriage - she aint going to get much out of it. Sorry Camille. Hope she didnt say yes to get one over on Chantelle. Got a horrible feeling this isnt going to work out happily ever after, but I do hope it does for the two of them.

Yet another instance where love outside the BB house is put to the test once a housemate is inside. Talk about the old show of Temptation Island, think BB would run this a close second

I remain to be convinced. It seems a bit convenient. One day hes dumped, the next they are engaged! Who knows what to believe?

To propose is such an easy thing to do, but does he mean it, or is he just covering up his feelings for Chantelle and hoping they will go away?

CELEBRITY Big Brother babe Chantelle Houghton was beaming last night after discovering that Preston was now free for love.

The non-celebrity winner was left heartbroken by rumours that the Ordinary Boys singer had proposed to his girlfriend Camille Aznar, 25.

But the Daily Star put the sparkle back into the bubbly blonde’s life. We spoke to Preston – caught up in a love triangle – who told us he was definitely NOT engaged to the French lass.

In a phone call to the Daily Star, he said: “I was shocked to hear that rumours had been going around that I’d popped the question.

“The news was a surprise to me. Just so you know – I’m not engaged!”

And in a bid to brighten 22-year-old Chantelle’s day, we caught up with the shapely Essex model to tell her the goodnews that her hopes of dating the hunk are definitely back on.

She arrived for a photoshoot in London to promote the EuroMillions £125million lottery jackpot thinking that she had lost her battle for the heart of Preston, 24.

When we told her he had not popped the question to Camille, Chantelle – looking perky in a slink pink outfit – said: “Oh my God! Really? Thanks for letting me know.” Earlier she had been in tears after hearing that Preston had “got down on one knee” and proposed to Camille.

Gossips claimed that the pair, who have been dating for almost two years and live in Brighton, planned to marry as soon as possible.

That news dashed Chantelle’s hopes of romance with the singer – real name Samuel Preston. She and Preston formed a close bond inside the spy-on-the-wall Big Brother house with their flirty antics and canoodling, watched by millions.

Both admitted they “loved” one another on the TV show and said they’d love to get married with Chantelle even calling him her “husband”.

When the show ended Preston had to face up to his girlfriend, who was less than pleased with his behaviour inside the BB house.

At a Press conference later he said he would like to marry Camille, but then admitted he did love Chantelle as well. The blonde model also confessed that she “felt love” for Preston and that he had done all the chasing after her on the show. Fans had hoped that the pair would finally get together this week as the UK’s hottest celebrity couple – but due to their hectic showbiz schedules they have only managed to meet up twice.

Once was on Sunday at Channel 4 Big Brother’s Little Brother Reunion Show, when they swapped mobile phone numbers.

And the second time waswhen they performed karaoke love songs together at the Channel 4 end-of-show party on Monday night.

Preston’s antics put him in the doghouse once again with Camille, because he cannot keep away from the TV show champion and he had promised her he would steer clear of Chantelle.

Paris Hilton lookalike Chantelle is clearly besotted with the pop star – even describing him as a “cute boy with a lovely body”. A spokesman for Preston’s band The Ordinary Boys added: “I have seen Preston every day since he left the Big Brother house and he has not proposed to Camille and they have not got engaged.

“At the moment he is focussed on the band and their forthcoming gigs.”

Last night a friend of Chantelle’s said: “She is thrilled that Preston hasn’t popped the question to Camille. She generously offered to be a bridesmaid if they did get married but she did later admit that Camille probably wouldn’t want that.

“Now she knows he hasn’t got engaged she’s just waiting to see what happens next. She would love to go out with him. Who wouldn’t?

“They’ve barely been able to see one another since coming out of the house and it’s been a shock to the system.

“They were holed up nonstop inside that house for 23 days and got so close.

“Now she’s back in the real world and both their schedules are making it hard to meet up.

“But they’re texting each other.”

Concert

Preston and The Ordinary Boys will play a free gig and provide autographs for their fans at HMV in London’s Oxford Street on Monday.

They will be putting on a mini concert from 6pm and then they will remain in the store to meet fans. They will also sign copies of their album Brassbound and their rereleased single Boys Will Be Boys – which is set to shoot high into the charts this weekend. A store source said: “We would love it if Chantelle came down as well to cheer them on.”

I really cant see Preston being with Chantelle. Shes a sweetheart, but it seems she wants to be famous more than she wants to be with Preston.

I remain to be convinced she feels much for Preston.

Chantelle will be advised by some to go on Love Island- and therefore remain single. But she will be advised by others to go with Preston because she could make a million with him.
