Even though he may not be the most entertaining HM I really like the guy he seems like a really nice fella and feel so sorry for him the way he feels so awkward and nervy around everyone in the house.

The hatred on the outside for him is just ridiculous and has a lot to do for lack of confidence in the house. Making it to the final with a reasonable reception from the crowd could do him the world of good

Anyone agree?

I think hes genuinely a nice guy.
It must suck to have that nickname stick with him 10 years after. Even tho he didnt really do anything wrong. Minus the breaking the rule about talking about noms on a daily basis. haha. So of course people are expecting him to actually be "Nasty" during this series.

I think it would do his confidence good if he made it to final, he definatly shows nervous akwardness in his body language.

We all know he not really nasty but as it was the first big brother and his attempst at gameplay the poor bloke has it labelled.

Afraid the other characters in their are going to be too strong for him to last.

Nick winning is the only thing that can save the show.

There's nothing nasty about Nick. What he did in BB1 would probably pass without comment these days!

Nick winning is the only thing that can save the show.

It really would be the 'ultimate ending' and sort of brilliant way to wrap up the entire series full-circle heh.

Something the OP mentioned and what a lot of newer/younger viewers probably don't understand fully but Nick was basically destroyed, smeared, viciously attacked in media.. ..he was 'the most hated man in britain' and his reputation absolutely demolished.
People forget this guy had to be 'extracted' from the house like some military operation.
There was serious concerns over him being assaulted or mobbed etc.

I guess the 'cruel irony' is that the things that he was so hated for became the very things the public later craved in housemates and even rewarded in housemates!
But for Nick he never got any of that and actually went through a quite disturbing and frightening experience that quite seriously affected his personal life.

Yeah, you can tell that is still bothering him somehow. This must be like some kind of 'flashback' PTSD experience for him.

There is not a lot of respect for Nick on these boards but without him BB may have never made it this far and would never have been the same beast it is now

I always thought that what he did in BB1 was actually nothing but a minor rule break by today's standards but then I remembered he was given the nickname not just for cheating but how he went about it.

Correct me if i'm wrong but did he pretend to have a wife that died in a car crash? That's pretty dispicable.

But I was shocked to see how shy and a bit of a bag of nerves he is. Made me wonder why on earth he agreed to go back in unless he really wants the money.

Also, as another poster has pointed out Nick is one of the big reasons the first series made such an impact which allowed the show to go further and garner its big audiences. (Even though that audience left it long ago).

as john said"do you really think you would be in here if you was called nice nick"
This is true...when they cast ubb i am sure they only picked nick coz he's nasty or they would of gone for the winner craig...pointless housemate at the mo

If he is fairly nice to everyone and dont step out of line he could do well in this.
