LOL sounds like a court of law but - I'm relatively lucky and have not been banned (much) or had many infractions but it just occurred to me that people do get them (in their eyes) unfairly. Is there a way of appealing other than 'contact us' ?

I know mods/admin have more than their fair share just dealing with the reports alone but do people, or can people, have them reversed? Some people being kicked out for weeks at a time just seems a loss to the forum

(PS I have no banned mates)

I admit I've wanted the odd person kicked permanently in my time but on most forums you do get a chance to have it out with the mods/admin and state your case. For instance I've seen people just reported for the sake of it while others go under the radar. So I could post efferty efferty eff (example please mods) yet another will post feck or **** and get thrown

Is that just cos it's reported? Is it OK if it's not reported?

People do get infractions and so forth reversed if it looks like the punishment was too harsh yes

Not sure, probably, along with if a particular mod see's it themselves. Dont think theyre given a ban just infractions, which could add up to a ban. Either way loads of people work around the swear filter so nobody should be penalized for it.

Ive only ever reported 1 post and thats because I was pissed with the member. Otherwise Ive never seen the point in doing it.

I had that. Vicky.

Can I have an infraction reversed, I got a 3 pointer for calling someone a ***** and then a one pointer for calling them a fcking ****** or it was something like that

edit: I got a 3 pointer for calling someone an idiot (wtf) and 1 pointer for telling someone to go fck themselves

Inconsistency :nono: (this was before the new mods btw)

Can I have one of my infractions reversed, as I posted '11' on JayMan's profile, and noticed the comment had gone so I wrote it again. Then two infractions came through... and I hadn't even got the first one so...

well just cos someone is reported doesn't mean they will automatically get infracted. And alot of times they're banned not because of the last offence but because they had a build up of previous infractions

Oh and If something is not reported but a mod sees it and thinks it deserves an infraction they can infract the person

what would happen if somebody got banned for no reason but they couldnt argue there case because they were banned for good?

Then they would need to use the contact us button. Which sends an email direct to James/Mark. I believe.

I've been known to reverse the odd ban, but you need to catch me on a good day ;)
