...to make it feel fresh and give it a sort of reboot, they should...

Announce a new host to replace Davina, since a lot of people don't like her and it'll give the show a new feel.
Emphasize the whole scariness of it and how there are cameras watching your every move. Get rid of the cheese.
Aim it more towards adults.
Change the location of the house.
Announce BBLB and CBB will not be returning.
Keep Big Mouth, but get rid of the piss-taking VTs and have a psychiatrist on every week, more discussions, news and uncut stuff. Get rid of those bands who no-one's ever heard of. :laugh3:
Start BB12 on 2012 to give it a break since for almost 11 years we've had two Big Brother's every year, which has gotten a bit much.
Have it last 70 days. Slightly shorter, but sweeter.
Have loads of epic twists. BB7 style.
Vote to SAVE always
No bias editing
Big Brother should ONLY get involved in arguments when it gets physical.
Lounge room separately outside like BB6 and 10.
No contact from the outside world, apart from MAYBE letters from home. (Maybe the host should ennounce the evictee from inside a quiet studio area...)
The outside of the house should have a long walkway like BB8
On Friday, have the normal style of shows (except phone numbers can appear) and then straight after have a half an hour "Big Brother: Eviction" show with the host.
No non-housemates should ever enter the house. Absolutely NO exceptions.
No music on evictions.
No music/stupid childish graphics for tasks.
The whole house should be up at least once.
No bias editing to save BB some flack or anything.
No tasks where they have to get a certain amount of views on the website.

Sorry, but I'd make a ****ing good replacement for PEJ. Feel free to add your own.

I really don't want Davina to go. Sure, she's not the best presenter in the world - but she is fit for the show and it would be weird without her.

Anyway, here's the changes:

- Vote to Save [THIS IS A MUST]
- All housemates must be up at least ONCE in the series. And again, it has to be Vote to Save.
- Don't change the lenth, but if it needs to be changed - then make it just a little over 100 days. I've always wanted to hit 100 days.
- A diverse cast, from all different backgrounds. And pick housemates that are probably not going to get on.
- Drop all gimmicks like Jedward, exiting the house etc, and return to evil twists/surprises.
- No contact with the outside world whatsoever. The only exception is letters from home.
- Don't care about the location of the house, but the house designs must remain good - and I would like the lounge to be out in the garden.
- 24/7 Live Feed online/on Fiver
- No censoring and no avoiding controversies
- No biased editing

That's all I can think of for now.

Here's mine, haha:

- KEEP Davina. This is a must. Big Brother won't be the same without her, and Channel 5 would sign someone like Emma Bunton.
- Keep BBBM, I like the idea once a week, but I think it deserves a new host. On Channel 5, after Eviction Show.
- Keep BBLB, I like George and Emma, I think BBLB is good with them, however it needs to have a one hour special on Friday/Eviction Day. Move it to C5 permanently, 8pm-9pm, before the highlights show.
- Less contact with outside world, I don't mind someone come in for a task, to coach them at something, but nothing as much as 'Ignore The Obvious'.
- Keep the studio, it's fine as it is. Keep the house designs good, Lounge in Garden like BB6/7/10.
- Bigger prize fund, possibly £250,000. Housemates will act differently towards a higher amount of cash.
- Bigger personalities, less internationals (not being discriminative, the programme is UK orientated, not BB UK + the rest of the World).
- 24/7 Live Feed on Channel 5/Fiver via Red Button
- Highlights shows, 9pm-10.30pm. Eviction shows 8.30pm-10.30pm, or 9pm-11pm.
- BB to become more evil and discipline the housemates more for breaking rules.
- Get rid of Save + Replace.
- Vote to Save.
- 2012 start. June through until September. Lasting approx. 101 Days.
- Don't cut arguments so much, no censoring. It's only a vagina, or penis for that matter.

No.

BBLB is essential sorry, it is the ORIGINAL Spin Off Show.
It's not going anywhere, Dermot or No Dermot it's still decent.

Axe that chav fest Big Mouth, At least BBLB reports on Big Brother where as Big Mouth likes to show rubbish VTs, worship sh*t hip hop 'singers' and have some dick heads in an audience shout over eachother.

Aim it more towards adults.

I'm not sure if this would work, as kids have more access than they've ever had in terms of watching programmes and following footage.

Also where do the phone votes come from, I always thought it was the younger generation that spent money in this area.

Yeah keep BBLB for the news and that and also for the psychologists to come in to talk about the housemates.

Not bothered about the part where they talk to hms parents on the phone and sh!t. They should only talk to family members if the hm is up for eviction on the Friday.

BBBM should continue.. but maybe make it into a half hour show?? instead of an hour!! and still keep it once a week.

Goal
01-09-2010, 04:11 PM
They have to pass the tasks to win cash so start it on £10,000 if they pass goes up to £20,000 if they fail it goes to £0 so they can win £10,000 or lose £10,000 iv its on £0 and they fail it stays the same.

This would stir it up a lot for example Ben refusing to do task housemates would be fuming.

I agree BB should be shorter.. no longer than 10 weeks..

I think on launch night they should just put in 10 housemates.. a few weeks in put 3 more in and that's it!!

Only put an extra housemate in if one leaves or is ejected.

Yeah, maybe have BB12 on for the same amount of time as BB5 [10 Weeks] and then if BB12 gets good enough ratings for C5 then Big Brother 13 could be 100 days lol

Woah talk about planning ahead :joker::joker:

BB8 was the longest with 94 Days.

Shame, BB8 was the sh*ttest series but it was the longest, Would of liked another series to be the longest like BB6/7/9 or even 5 but I think 5 had a good run of 10 weeks.

I kind of like Davina, she's a much better host than Julie Chen.

I think the suggestion about ending CBB and LB is good, although I've never seen LB. I just think it's a big much to have all these shows related to BB on all the time. It gets tiring. What would be great is if they either pick all the new houseguests by random, like they did this year with Mario or do something similar to this old fox show called Paradise Hotel. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradise_Hotel) Basically, I think it went that every week people paired up as couples leaving one odd person out. That person had to check out and one new one checked in. It was one of the best Summer reality shows on in a America at the time. Lots of drama, fighting and no one could ever get comfortable because each week someone left and someone new came in. It was a constant revolving door.

Here's my idea of how the PH format can fit for a new run of BB UK (I also took a bit from ABC's Bachelor Pad, that would work well as an opener):

15 Houseguests would be selected - 7 women and 8 men. When they first enter the house, they are given a game called 'first impressions' During that game they are asked into the diary room one by one to give their first impressions of everyone in the house. Once everyone has had their say in the diary room, Big Brother gives them a quiz on first impressions where they have to guess who said what. Girls compete with girls, men with men. BB announces which guy and girl scored the highest, they are then paired up and so on down the line until there's one odd man or woman out. Couples will share the same bed in the evenings and compete in food and other competitions during the week. By the end of the first week, the ladies are asked to randomly draw numbers from a bag in the diary room but will not be allowed to look at the number.

Friday's will be check out night where the public votes for their favorite man and woman to stay, they will then be coupled together; it doesn't matter if they were coupled before or not. Those people are the safe pairing for the coming week, however will not be eligible for public vote the following week. Then it's the rest of the ladies turn to announce their couples (in order of the numbers they drew). One week is ladies choice, the next week it's the men. The odd man or woman standing has to leave as two new ones check in.

I think that keeps the men to woman ratio balanced and makes it much more exciting. It gives the guests and public an equal sharing of the outcome and makes it more important to have a strong social and strategic game, not to mention the romance possibility. Imagine how much mischief the public could create in the house by breaking up a close couple for the week?

There would be no more Josie/John James type couplings that lay in bed all day, isolating themselves from the group. They would have to interact.

As for the weekly competition aspect of things; the couple voted for by the public will have special dining and lodging for the week; like a separate luxury suite with a personal chef or some other week-long luxury. While the other couples battle it out (similar to the American BB have/have not format) to reserve a table at the dining hall or something to that effect. The lowest scoring couple will get a salad bar pass for the week (lol). This will keep the tension high and create a bit of friction and envy.

To keep everyday exciting the participants engaged in some sort of activity (which the current BB UK does well at), they can have additional luxury contests, for spa visits and other perks on Monday's they could have a power couple contest, the winners will be exempt from the public vote and check out night, runners up get a secret advantage they are not told until check out night (for instance during the first week, the secret advantage could be that the woman in the paring can select a mate first before the others). Those that scored the worst get a disadvantage...like for instance they can only wear swimwear for the week or they cannot have any of their grooming tools ie makeup, razors, hair extensions, ect..

So anyway, of course there are issues with this idea 1. They would have to figure out a way to tweak it after the first season to include same-sex couples (Maybe season two could be a mix of both) and they would have check out more than one person every other week to keep that odd man out thing going. 2. Channel 5 would have to figure out how to fund it. I believe over in the UK your networks are publicly funded, whereas here, networks are private corporations beholden to advertisers, therefore they have piles of money to work with. Reality programming is the cheapest thing they can produce. In the UK, I think it's different for you all--but I could be wrong so pardon me if I'm misinformed.

Well PH went on for about 16 weeks (I can't remember, you'll have to look at the wiki). So it's not endless but it gives you the idea of being endless. Another ingenious thing that Fox did was when it premiered they did not not announce how long it would run because the object was to stay in the longest by coupling up.

There were winners. Two and they had a choice to share the money with their partners or not.

So it may have a couple weeks longer run than the current BB format but I think it would be well worth it. Something fresh and exciting. BB gets tiring when it's the same ole thing every year. I think a new format each year would be great as well. Keeps people interested.

Davina must stay! It wouldn't be the same without her. If C5 get rid of D, they will get someone **** like Mylene Klass or Jayne Middlemiss to replace her. I also have a feeling that if C5 get it, it will become much more like BB1 and BB2, the much more bland houses.

*Keep BBLB I don't really watch it anyway
*Keep BBBM if you can get Russell Brand the legend back on it

*More evilness and being told off and punished!!!
*Less pandering to the one or two people that the producres want to win
*24/7 free live coverage
*Red button action where you can pick what camera you want to watch like in the good old days
*God no save and replace
*Loads of twists and different housemates like BB7

If Davina goes, then I have a feeling it could be an ex HM/celebrity HM.

"OI, BIG BRUDDA HOUSE, YOU'RE NOT REALLY THAT LIVE ON A CHANNEL NOT EVEN A FULLY-FLEDGED BRISTOLIAN WATCHES. INNIT JOHN? YEP. ANYWAYS. I'M THE RANDY MARRREEEE, AND THE 'OUSEMATE TO BE KICKED OUT WTH MY MUDDY BOOT IS...."

Or

"BIG BRUDDA, I WANT CIGARATTES. I'M NOT BEING FUNNY, LOOK AT ME! NOW I'LL EVICT SOME ONE."

Or

"I HAVE JIGGLY BOOBIES SO I'LL EVICT SOMEONE..."

Anyways...

Jack Whitehall HAS to be the host of BBBM, along with Pete Burns!

Not much more.
I'm not too fussy, innit John James...

Mad Bad ;)

...to make it feel fresh and give it a sort of reboot, they should...

Announce a new host to replace Davina, since a lot of people don't like her and it'll give the show a new feel. - DISAGREE
Emphasize the whole scariness of it and how there are cameras watching your every move. Get rid of the cheese. - AGREE
Aim it more towards adults. - AGREE
Change the location of the house. - AGREE < MOVE TO BIRMINGHAM!!!
Announce BBLB and CBB will not be returning. - DISAGREE
Keep Big Mouth, but get rid of the piss-taking VTs and have a psychiatrist on every week, more discussions, news and uncut stuff. Get rid of those bands who no-one's ever heard of. :laugh3: - AGREE & DISAGREE
Start BB12 on 2012 to give it a break since for almost 11 years we've had two Big Brother's every year, which has gotten a bit much. - AGREE
Have it last 70 days. Slightly shorter, but sweeter. - AGREE KIND OF
Have loads of epic twists. BB7 style. - AGREE
Vote to SAVE always - AGREE
No bias editing - AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
Big Brother should ONLY get involved in arguments when it gets physical. - AGREE
Lounge room separately outside like BB6 and 10. - AGREE
No contact from the outside world, apart from MAYBE letters from home. (Maybe the host should ennounce the evictee from inside a quiet studio area...) - AGREE , But the last bit DISAGREE . We need to get the hms paranoid proper with the crowd chanting abuse and stuff XD.
The outside of the house should have a long walkway like BB8 - DISAGREE! BB7 WALKWAY YES
On Friday, have the normal style of shows (except phone numbers can appear) and then straight after have a half an hour "Big Brother: Eviction" show with the host. - I dont understand this :S
No non-housemates should ever enter the house. Absolutely NO exceptions. - AGREE
No music on evictions. - AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No music/stupid childish graphics for tasks. - AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The whole house should be up at least once. - TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!
No bias editing to save BB some flack or anything. - AGREE
No tasks where they have to get a certain amount of views on the website. - AGREE

Sorry, but I'd make a ****ing good replacement for PEJ. Feel free to add your own.

I agree with 90% of your changes. BUT Davina should still be the presenter. Just not on BBBM they should have a different presenter every 2 weeks. And also I think that each week it should be a save eviction apart from the first 3 weeks, dunno why but its an experimental change. Also the series should be 100 days. That would be so epic it would be amazing . :wavey::hugesmile:

Some good points in this thread, the key thing is THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME CHANGES. After 11 years its too predictable now.

I would like them to have head of house again ...but this time make it be important and let them get luxuries and drink and there own room with a nice bed.
Plus they have to pick 1 housemate in nominations.. but they automatically go up for eviction along with the housemates nominees

yeah head of house idea made it more interesting. Giving some hms a little more power over the rest brought out personality clashes that otherwise get hidden.

- For the fools that support the bores to stop watching the show

SERIOUSLY. WHY DO THEY WATCH IT? It baffles me.
