Will a system restore work? :)

Maybe try that, just set it to yesterday

I don't think it will as my Hard drive is usually turned off when the system saves restore points.

If they are not in your Recycle Bin then you will never see them again.
Don't you back up your files?

Actually you could check out this webiste - http://www.tech-pro.net/how-to-recover-deleted-files.html
A couple of years ago I deleted a load of videos accidental, I used that website but it didn't help recover them at all. You may be different.

The link I posted above says this in the features:

Recuva lost files on your computer, USB drive, camera or iPod.

Could that help?

Unless you have written over the files locations or formatted the drive, most if not al of the files you have 'lost' should be able to be recovered. When you delete a file, all you do is remove the start and end file markers the computer uses to identify its location(s).

The tools mentioned earlier are quite good at recovering files, there are others available too. Depending on the file recovery tool you use, you may have to go back through the files and rename them all etc.
