According to today's Star, Chantelle has told Channel 4's Pure T4 that "I Want It Right Now" is definitely being released, with all proceeds going to charity. "This will be a one-off. I can't sing and I don't want to be a pop star".

awww I think that is unfair - I have no problem understanding her and I know she cant sing but she knows it and is not pretending that she can and it is only for charity!

hope it doesn't then go on to be a charity hit around the world lol.. not that it would happen but it would be a disgrace to the nation:shocked:

She hasnt got the vocal ability- true.
But did Kerry Katona in Atomic Kitten? Or Victoria in the Spice Girls?
Nope.

If it's ever actually released, then there's nothing 'charitable' about it. It's just a tacky excuse for free promotion. She may not make any cash directly from the sales of the single, but she certainly won't suffer in the process, either. If she has any integrity, then she'll agree to match the profits from her own pocket. I don't think we'll be seeing any such announcement any time soon.

oh please leave the girl alone!
So i guess every single novelty song that has been for charity should be damned as they are getting press. :puzzled:
As least shes admitted she cant sing and she says she doesnt want to be a singer!! shes raising money for coharity and good on her!

Why? When you put yourself in the media spotlight, you've got to realise that you're every bit as likely to be shot at as you are to be appreciated. And Chantelle has done absolutely nothing worthy of appreciation thus far.
When they've been recorded by someone whose primary motive is to garner publicity and riches for themselves rather than the charity concerned, then yes indeed.
Is that relevant? As I said, if and when the single is released, the goal will be to promote Chantelle, and whatever charity is involved will be very much secondary.

I agree give her a break she has said herself she can't sing at least she is doing something for charity.

The alternative would be not to release the song... when asked if she wanted to.
I can't think how that would be the right choice out of the two alternatives.

Hearing what from me, Lance? Your post isn't at all coherent I'm afraid, but feel free to run around the room applauding yourself regardless.

I shall pat myself on the back.
Sorry that my clarification was not to your standards but I shall try again (I ask for your forgiveness in advance if I don't improve):
It's her money she won it fair and square. She can do what she wants with it. It came across as if you were frowning on her for not loading it all off to a charity. Just saying that we haven't heard of such a charitable act from yourself... so should you be criticising her?
Again, my lady, apologies if I didn't make sense... can't all be perfect and wonderful.
