I don't blame you for being optimistic and I hope it turns out that you're right, BUT at the moment talks have hit a brick wall and it's as I stated.

Five were hoping to announce they had taken over the programme just before the final but the fact they didn't doesn't look too promising, UNLESS as I said talks resume.

Why in the world would C4 allow Channel5 to announce anything before their actual "goodbye"? Are you unaware of the amount of money put into the advertising campaign promoting this as the FINAL Big Brother ever? Contracts were signed and you better believe there was one line specific to the fact that if BB does get picked up elsewhere, they wouldn't be allowed to announce it until a certain amount of time after the show ends.
C4 spent MILLIONS promoting this as the end of BB, rightfully so because that would get more viewers than had they just promote it as "just another series". There is no way in hell, absolutely NONE...that C5 would be allowed to announce their purchase of BB before C4's end, that would have wasted alot of time and money. ...and alot of lawsuits would be filed.


If contracts were signed, it would take alot of time from them to lay out a plan and blueprint of how the show will work (if changes will be made) and also alot of time to figure out the schedule. So dont expect an "official" announcement with any real detail aside form the purchase possibly until early 2011. ...after the dust from last night settles.
I wouldn't even be too shocked if they take a 1 year break possibly to abide by contractual agreements made by C4.

Doubt Davina would do it, sadly. As someone has already said her and Marcus are core parts of BB for me. It would be hard for me to enjoy/watch it without them.

She has already said herself she would definitely consider moving to another channel with big brother if she was asked.

I think Big brother should just end to be honest or take a good 2-3 years out of the limelight all together. The truth is BB was something different and rode on a huge wave but that wave has ended and people just aren't as interested anymore.

X Factor, Britains got talent and Im a Celebrity dominate the TV ratings when they are on. Big Brother would not compete with any of those shows.
