I'll miss S4C if it goes. I'm not fluent in Welsh but know my bearings sort of and always used to watch programs like "Pobl y Cwm", "Pam Fi Duw? and also when I was in infants school used to flick between CBBC and CITV (none of this CBeebies bull) and Planed Plant (the Welsh CBBC) and watched things like Sali Mali and "Joshua Jones" on his canal boat awh.
Subtitles FTW.
Good effin' times! I hope that another dominantly Welsh channel pops up though, otherwise that's just wrong.

That's absolutely ridiculous. It's not wise for WELSH people to speak WELSH in WALES? Even in Cardiff it's 50/50 Welsh/English (and sadly becoming 40/60...)
IMO I still think that for certain jobs in certain areas it's compulsory that the applicant knows Welsh. It's more comforting and 'homely', especially when now there seems to be more immigrants than ever here. I'd love to go into the majority of shops in the town here and and be served by someone local, a friendly face like it used to be, where you knew almost everyone.
Now it's all people from Poland, Liverpool and Birmingham with cold attitudes.
