One was a talented, trend-setting icon. The other was an ignorant, loud bully. Go figure.
As much as I thought Jade dying and leaving two young boys behind was sad, I kinda think MJ gave the world a bit more than she did somehow..

Michael Jackson.
Jade was a vile cow tbh.
Joelle.
14-09-2010, 06:51 PM
is this really a debatable subject?
One is an utter legend who has done more for the music industry than almost anyone else and given the world Thriller, Billie Jean, Bad, Don't Stop Till You Get Enough etc.
One is a vile, racist pig who has given the world precisely nothing. except someone to hate.
Nuff said
Joelle.

Agree 100%
I think he was a bampot and had a lot of issues but I do not think he ****ed littled boys!
How people after watching the sham of a court case can still say he was guilty is beyond me :nono:

If we are talking about worst celeb deaths, I would put Elvis or Rod Hull well above Goody and Jackson as the worst.
I mean fancy dying on the pan straining to pass a log, or sliding off your own roof while trying to sort out your TV aerial.

Worst out of the 2 is Jade because at least a lot of little children are safe now that MJ is dead.

This thread is on 'worst death' not 'worst celebrity'. Jade Goody probably died in a lot of pain and suffered for a long time. Michael 'died' of an overdose.
Out of those two, Michael Jackson. Didn't like either of them though

But why are we even classing Jade as a celeb? She was the queen of the wannabe sub-culture who think they're celebs.

A celeb is generally a well known person

To Be Fair Jade was not a good Celeb.
more of a big brother celeb that got bad times and a bad doctor
And MJ is a Icon
that started at 5 years old.
Who also had a bad doctor.
silly
to compare such levels
even if you like jade.

Define worst though... do you mean as in the saddest or most gruesome death?
The most tragic one that comes to mind straight for me is Marvin Gaye, who was shot by his own father in the heat of an argument. But yeah, there's plenty of others that are far worse in both respects to the two you have mentioned.
Yeah Kirsty MacColl's was pretty horrific, plus her children saw it! :(

How does a kid ever get over the trauma of seeing their mother decapitated? It was gruesome beyond belief. I don't think they were ever able to prosecute the owner of the speedboat that killed her either, so no justice either.

I don't think they ever will.. It may get better over time but I'm sure it is something they will never forget or get over..
On the other hand, the mind is a powerful and strange thing and I do believe it has the ability to block out things that are so horrific, you don't WANT to remember.

Edit: I'm thinking of a different Kirsty I think actually. D:

Don't really think there is such a thing as a worse celebrity death, but when Jade died it sort of made me depressed, but when Michael died it was sort of like a dream...and that it effected me in a way.

Because some people believe he was killed. I should've had the quotations over the 'overdose' though.

I think deaths in classical music have been much sadder than deaths popular music, because most popstars normally die when they are well past their musical prime (lets not kid ourselves) or have long since sold out.
Mozart died when he was only 36 years old, when his music was getting better and better. Imagine if he had been given at least 15 more years. Schubert's musical output also showed no sign of slowing down or deteriorating, until he died of syphilis at the age of 31. He never had much success during his lifetime.
I've never felt that robbed knowing a popstar or rockstar was dead although Charlie Parker, Buddy Holly, Nick Drake and Jimi Hendrix lived painfully short lives and had a lot more to give.

That's actually not a bad call if you're talking of tragic losses to our history and culture. I mean John Keats was only 25 when he died and he was such a beautiful soul.

Tuberculosis killed a lot of young people at that time. I think there have even been theories it was the cause of Schubert's death. At least they hadn't invented planes (http://listverse.com/2008/01/09/top-10-musician-plane-crash-deaths/) by then. :D

thank you for that. For a moment I was worried it looked like I was advocating her death.

Eh, she was the birth of the likes of Amerie, Ashanti, Ciara, Christina Milian - the late 90s/early 00s surge of generic R&B starlets with no real outstanding voices or personalities.
I'll be honest I've not heard of many on the list. But if you mean Patsy, Buddy or Otis I'll slap you. :p

Both tragic deaths..... Jade Goody got it the worst.. dying at the tender age of 27 leaving 2 small boys behind.
Michael dying at the age of 50 (Still quite young) and leaving 3 kids behind.
Jade's just seemed more awful because we saw her living with cancer.. getting the news that cancer has spread everywhere around her.. and while Michael's was more of a quicker death. (If he is actually genuinely dead)
