I don't get the adoration for it at all, we had Halo 3 with an Xbox we brought after the old one red Ring'd on us and I thought it was boring as hell.
No man! I love Halo. The Second one is my favorite.
Very very overrated game,
Very repetitive and the terrain's are boring. Enemys are far to similar to each other, the storyline is awful and got outdated in the 1st one... and you find yourself doing the same thing at the end of the game that you were doing at the start of the game, usually walking around some ****e space station shouting those grunt things

Most overrated game ever. Fun the first few times but after that it's just plain dull. Ok, I'll give it one thing - the controls and movement are fantastic but the gameplay is so uneventful.
When I bought the first one I played it for awhile but always ended up throwing in Nightfire - the Bond shooter - when my friends were around because it's far more fun than that crap.

Halo isn't terrible. I've played all of them. However, it certainly is not one of the best shooters ever. That's a category reserved for far more innovative games.
While Goldeneye was awesome, consoles rarely saw any good shooters. At least, nothing that could compete with what was on PC's, that PC's had been doing well all along. When it comes to console shooters, Halo was pretty damn important because of what it offered.
I played Halo right when it came out with my friend and we had an amazing time with the co-op. It was just too good to want to sleep. However, I quickly got a sour taste in my mouth about the whole thing when all the Halo kiddies started to write off games they'd never played as being vastly inferior to Halo.
My primary beef with the games are that they're really repetitive and seem to always culminate in some large explosion. Why don't we ever capture alien technology and reverse engineer it? It's a lot more advanced than what we've got, so why do we just blow up every valuable piece of alien technology we get our hands on? Giant alien pylon with a shield and teleportation technology? Let's blow it up!
It's like the idea is that master chief is just too badass for humanity to require advancing their technology any further against a vastly superior enemy. That's just dumb.
