Wow, and I thought the last game would be difficult to top! More difficult shooting and passing, more competitive tackling that is seldom predictable as to who will come out with the ball. Just brilliant.

Pro Evo > Fifa

I used to think that way, but the last Fifa was excellent, while Pes was same old, same old.

and PES better than FIFA??? LOL!!!!
Not a chance in hell!

I heard the passing is advanced giving players like fabregas and xavi an extra edge.

Yeah, and if you're off balance it effects your pass. And the tackling and loose ball battles are far more difficult to win, you know?

Very impressed with it.

Downloaded PES too. Haven't played PES in ages though so I'm a bit rusty. Can't comment on it yet although they've changed it quite alot from what I can see. Pretty good too.

Fifa is moving further and further above PES imo.

I just wish they brought out Ultimate team at like christmas instead of like march..

Have to say i hope it gets better.

Im playing as barca..

two games, two 0 - 0 draws..
Bayern Leverkusen too which should be easy, but they are just so much stronger, their attackers are stronger than my dfeenders.. But they havent had a proper shot on target ive been struggling my strikers cant get past players well the computer tackles very well.. maybe its just im new to it.

But i have to say they move to slow and they pass to slowly, im like arsenal when i play i pass it right around the pitch but its so hard because they take to long to pass.

Will always prefer Pes to Fifa because it's more Unique and no matter how good fifa gets it will never be as more enjoyable to play on as the old PES's, The master league beats all

setanta

Yeah, it feels better scoring in PES. FIFA doesn't have the same thrill but they're really improving the game. It's so close to the real thing.

That's what I love about it though Ben. It's like real football. Online play will be very tight and cagey.

Its annoying though because i can dominate a team completely but cant get past their back line? their defenders are faster than villa messi and ibrahimovic and stronger...
Ballack is a beast its almost impossible to get the ball off him.

Im only playing on professional and ive had 3 0 - 0 draws. i should be beasting..

Ohhh and penalties are pure **** lol.

setanta

Penalties are a bit strange. You're right there. I just like that it's difficult to break a team down. I'm sure it'll get easier though.

30stone
16-09-2010, 02:21 PM
Ohhh yeah... and through balls.. they were perfect on 08 09 and 10.. yet my through balls go to the player? instead of infornt and they have to stop sometimes.

Just scored my first goal though so its okay.

I just realised how penalties work..

Like i was trying to get it direct on the green bit, but wasnt putting much power on and they were conastantly missing, you get it just out the green but put more power on, you go on target..

setanta
16-09-2010, 02:23 PM
I was rarely hitting them in the corners with my penalties. Hard to master but I suppose that's better than it being too easy.

30stone
16-09-2010, 02:24 PM
Okay im getting pissed, i just conceeded a penalty ? i done nothing my player turned around the other bloke went down? and that was that..

And my goalie seems to stay in the middle of the goal which ever way i direct him to go..

It's just more difficult to pass accurately, that's all. I think it has the potential to be a classic.

I think people will go off this a lot quicker.

Because they will get bored and pissed when stupdi stuff happens like the pases dont go right etc.

Had my first free kick, 30 yards.. hit the wall, im going to reserve my judgement until i get a proper one, as before i could score pretty much any free kick inside 34 yards.

You're after reminding me of something that wrecked my head yesterday about the PES demo. No advantage from the ref. Blowing for everything even when you come out with the ball. Was driving me mad.

30stone

Might put it down to semi pro for a couple of matches, they should have put a range of teams on there not just 5 star and 4 and half..

Christiano Ronaldo acceleration 93, sprint speed 94..

Bayern left back acceleration 74 sprint speed 78.

Whats the point in having the stats if they mean nothing?

He kkept up with ronaldo, just next to him the whole time..

I gave up, i will play it with my friends tomorrow night see what they think.

One of my mates is brilliant, 1 on 1 i cant touch him its ridiculous. He will lose like 1 in 25 games online, maybe this will be good stop him scoring so freely against me..

setanta
16-09-2010, 02:40 PM
That's probably how you'll find out how good or bad the game is. I mean, I'm pretty rubbish so it takes me awhile to get to grips with any new game. A pro like your friend will have it sussed fairly soon and give his verdict on it.

30stone
16-09-2010, 02:43 PM
Yeah im pretty good and i found that ridiclously difficult to poach their back line with the 2 best strikers on the game..

I used to think that way, but the last Fifa was excellent, while Pes was same old, same old.

I actually thought the problem with PES in the last two years was that they didnt keep it the same; they kept trying little tweaks and silly changes that did more harm than good. They've apparently gone back to the drawing board for this years game so I'm hopeful it will reclaim it's crown.

You're right - they did tweak it needlessly without ever making any drastic changes, you know? It's just that Fifa have made such a huge effort over the last year or two... they're catching up big time. I preferred FIFA's last game, which probably had a bit to do with the online gaming part, which was much better, imo anyway.

i think the last 3 pes games have made it to easy to score past the goalkeeper.

Fifa have made it much much more realistic.
Which is good, sometimes i would like it a bit easier though.

Fifa arent playing catch up, ive only been playing since fifa 08 and fifa smash pes with the amount of games they sell.

Im going to play it more tonight and get used to it..

Yeah I agree, it just felt like change for the sake of it to me. Although, while that annoyed me I still enjoyed the games more and found them more playable than Fifa, it never lost it's "just one more game..." factor and the Master League was as enjoyable as ever. They did get complacent though and just got lazy with the last two games and I say that as someone who only plays offline, never played Xbox live although I've heard Pro Evo's online mode is pretty poor

That doesnt neccesarily make them better games though, that's just down to a much bigger marketing spend by EA more than anything.

Ive played pes a couple of times and it seems like a bit of a poor mans fifa.

In terms of gameplay fifa are far ahead.

what is the AI like nowadays for Fifa

because as well as playing against the computer I always wanted to pick the teams and then watch the comp v comp

but last Fifa I played I set Man Utd v lower league team and it was never a realistic result and all the players seemed of equal quality instead of Man Utd players being better and passing, shooting, tackling etc

I disagree, I've always preferred Pro Evo's gameplay. Up until the last two years the only thing that was better about Fifa was the fact that they had all the merchandising rights so you had the proper team names and everything. Fifa has taken big steps forward recently I admit, while Pro Evo has taken them backwards but I still just findit more fun playing PES for some reason

The PES demo is class tbf, really close this year, and I've been a FIFA fan since '99!

Think I'll stick with FIFA though. I hate PES' Master League and lack of Championship - League 2 teams.

I was pretty impressed by Fifa, i didn't buy Fifa 10 but i think i'll buy 11 this time round. Is it just me or is it pretty easy?.. i'm already winning on top class level lol. My only question is about the penalties.. i haven't worked out how to get my keeper to dive or me to hit my penalty to either side of the goal.. can anyone help me please?

To save: Move with the left stick, dive with the right stick.

To score: Hold down B to power it, get it in the green area for accuracy and hold down the way you want to go as you run up to the ball.

They're pretty difficult, but effective once you've got the tekkerz.

After playing the demo non-stop for a day or two, I must say, it is ****ing amazing. So much better than Fifa 10 it's unreal.

Also, I pre-ordered from Game and got a promo code for the Creation Centre beta so I can use it before the game is out, and omg it's brilliant.

Just downloaded the demo for my 360 and I am very impressed with it so far, it feels so much more realistic and I like the extra little additions such as the start where the teams line up and shake hands, and the new default celebrations.

The only thing that is bugging me atm is the penalties, the accuracy and power bar aren't a problem but even if I edge the analog stick just slightly to the left/right it goes stupidly wide, I just can't seem to get the hang of it?

Oh and another thing, I hope the squads are fully up to date by the time it's released, Van dee Vaart is still at Madrid and Ibrahimovic is still at Barca on this, and I really, really hope they sort out the manager mode issues for Fifa 11, the only problem I had with 10 was that manager mode was so buggy that it was almost unplayable and it is my favourite mode on the game.

Will take a lot of getting used to but I think it's going to be amazing.

KG.
24-09-2010, 02:13 PM
So I've been playing some more and got used to the penalty issue now, I really like the delayed run up added in too.

The only issue I'm having with the demo at the moment is the AI. Why does the AI not run for the ball or attempt to tackle at all? It's so frustrating, especially if you're so used to FIFA 10 where the CPU will run after a free ball, but no, not here, after you have to wait for your player to regain composure who has just been challenged, you have to manually switch the indicator the the nearest player and run after the ball yourself, by which time the other team has almost always reached it first. I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it, but I thought they wanted to make this game feel even more like the real thing? What's real about having a free player who is yards from the free ball, just standing there like a bellend waiting for someone to tell him to run after it?

On another note, not particularly about the gameplay, but why have they only allowed 3 minute halves on the demo? Consider this game is more about build up play and passing than ever before and not being able to run at a defence and shoot within a couple of seconds, why have they given the shorted time possible to try things out? You're lucky to get aymore than 5 shots on target after all the build up play. Maybe that's just because I'm playing on WC/Legendary but it's really annoying me having to replay over and over just to try and get used to it.

Other than that, I'm still loving it and can't wait for it to be released. I just hope they don't keep loan playes at their original club for the first season.

EDIT: Also the runs that your computer team mates make aren't as 'clever' or realistic than in FIFA 10.
